I told you we're gonna have a special guest tonight and I'm going to read to you some words. I asked my family this morning. I said I said, "Hey guys," I said, ", Mr. Chad's going to preach tonight. " And I said I said, "When I when I tell you that when I say Chad Johnson, when I say Mr. Chad to you," I said, "I want you to take a few seconds to think for a minute. " I said, "I want you to give me some words that you think of that remind you of Mr. Chad. " And so these were the words that we had. And before I give them to you, the reason we did this is because in Proverbs 20:17, it says that even children are known by the way they act and that their conduct whether it is pure and whether it is right. Even children are known by the way they act. And so we all are known for many things. And so this is how you are known in our family, sir. Hardworking, faithful, dependable, kind, tall, cowboy. Helpful, trustworthy, knowledgeable, kind. Again, good job. Strong, big, tough, and I had gentle. He's big, and he's tough, and he's strong, and he's gentle, and he's caring, and he's wise, and he's loyal, and he has a servant's heart. And he reminds me of the power of delegated authority that God gives. And he has an understanding of submission and authority.
And God has brought him as a gift to this group of people. And my kids said, "Dad, why is Mr. Chad preaching tonight? " And I said, "Because the Church is bigger than one personality. The Word is bigger than one man's voice. And yes, we have structure and we have organization, but we need to hear from the gifting that is in so many different people here. And it is shared through Acts of service. It is shared through all the different ways that it can be shared. All of you carry the same anointing because it's his anointing. But tonight, we get to hear from the anointing that's on Chad Johnson. Can you guys give him some love and appreciation and a big round of applause for who this man is? I'm gonna scoot this back because if I get up here, I won't be able to see my notes., if anybody's heard me speak before, I do get emotional. So, if I get emotional, just let me have my time for a second and then I'll get on through it and work through it because, I'm one emotional dude. And, that's okay. That's okay. Because when the Lord got a hold of me, I was a broken mess. And every time I read that Word, his Word, it continues to mold and break me and mold me into his likeness. And it does nothing but just wants to make me melt at his feet. So Jeremy had to tell me all the kind words, which got me already emotional.
And I'm hoping this is the end of it right here, but it may not be. And I'm just going to warn you, it may not be because I was emotional going through this Word all week and it's just been it's been heavy on me. So, let me get started here. Hang on. Let me open up with my passwords here. Get out of there. Man, God is good. Amen., this is my apple, by the way. And thank you, Mila. I think she brought it, right? Stella. Stella brought Thank you, Stella. Sorry, Mila. Not Mila. Sorry. Stella brought it. Thank you., and if me squinting up here because I'm looking at my notes, it does not mean I need glasses. So, I'm just telling you right off, I may have to carry the iPad like this for a little bit.
It's okay. It does not mean I need glasses. It just It's fine. It's small writing., man, guys, I'm so excited to be up here. I am thrilled. I'm pumped. God is good. Jeremy, it was so amazing. We had, God inhabits the praises of his people. What does that mean? He dwells in his people's praises to him. Amen. So, we just had an awesome where we just the Lord's presence is just all over this place right now. So, with that said, Jeremy was all over what I was wanting to start with. I mean, you were all over it. So, we may end up doing a little bit again because here's the deal, man. He was it was awesome. And it is awesome how the Spirit of God moves and on many different hearts in different ways. And so I want to open up in the Word in Proverbsap 18 21.
If I'm out of breath or breathing, I got sweating hot back there and I was kind of out of shape back there, too. So, it's take me a second to get kind of my heart rate back down. Proverbs 18:21, it says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it eat its fruit. " Before I get started any further, guys, I want you to know that there is no guilt. There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. Amen. There is nothing there. Whom the Son has set free is free indeed. Amen. He is setting us free. He is wanting us to elevate in him. And this tonight, I spend most of my day, every day retraining an animal to think differently than what they were created and how they were created to think. Okay? I am retraining that animal constantly to rethink in the ways that I'm teaching him in the ways that he doesn't have to operate out of fear, with torment, and that creates him to be paralyzed with fear. Amen. So I am constantly so if you hear me this I'm kind of just I love to teach I love to share people and just allow people just to be set free in the name of Jesus. And so with that said there is no guilt or condemnation with what we're saying here or what I'm about to go through. Alls I want I love each one of you. I appreciate each one of you and I just want you guys to elevate and grow in Christ. That's all I'm doing here tonight.
So with that said here's what I want to do. If each one of you, if we all stand one more time, I'm sorry to make you stand one more time, but Jeremy had it awesome going and I gota I gotta do it because this is what I wanted to do. There is something about hearing the spoken Word over us. Amen. See, the Word gets in us. We speak it, I think it, I meditate on it, and it gets in my heart. And when it gets on my heart, I write it on the tablets of my heart, as the psalmist said, right? I put it on my heart. And so, here's what I want to do. I want us to get ready to receive. Cuz here's the thing. We have to when we come into Christ, salvation, this is not a salvation issue. This is not this is a growth thing going in Christ, right? We want to excel. We want to grow in Christ. So, what I want us to do is just I want us to confess. I'm going to say some stuff and I want you to repeat after me with what I'm about to say. Okay? Here's the first thing is I want us to prepare to receive from Christ. Right?
Receive the Word that is about to be said. All right? So, here's here we go. I want us to confess this. And it says, hang on. I got to find my notes. Sorry. Sorry. I'm all over the place here. All right. I want you to say this. Ready? I am healed. I am complete in Christ. I am complete in Christ. Lacking nothing. Lacking nothing. God has chosen me to be his very own. God has chosen me to bear. I have the peace of God.
I have I have the mind of Christ. And live free from anxiety and depression. My hands carry the power of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit to lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. To cast out generational curses. generation and demonic spirits that influence me in my home. And I am a new creation in Christ. I am a new creation in Jesus name. Amen and amen. All right, you may be seated. Tonight guys, I just want to read the Word and I want to read the Word over you. with tonight's message. everything I just said is Scripture and I'm going to read some Scripture to you guys and I just want you to listen and you can take notes on the scriptures. if you don't want to take this many notes that's fine. I can text it to you. I can send it to you. I want you to get the Word in you. First thing is Ephesians 2:10 says, "I am God's workmanship created in Christ unto God's works. " 2 Corinthians 5:17, I am a new creation in Christ. Thessalonians 1:4, God has chosen me to be his very own.
Psalms 139:14, Ephesians 2:10, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Philippians 4:7, I have the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. 1 John 4:4, I have the I have the greater one living in me than he who is in the world. Isaiah 54:14, I am far from oppression and fear does not have a hold on me. 1 John 5:18, I am born of God and the Enemy has no hold over me or my family. Guys, as I'm reading these, I want you to start saying these over your life and over you. If you're dealing with depression or anxiety right now, I want you to repeat that. I want you to repeat the Word over your life and confess it over your life until it gets so ingrained into you that my thinking is no longer on my troubles or what I'm struggling with, but it gets so into me that I know who I am and my identity in Jesus Christ. And that's all I need. Amen. That I get it so written on me that it's on my heart. 1 Tim Corinthians 2:16, I have the mind of Christ and can live free from anxiety and depression. Mark 16 17 and 18. My hands carry the power of the Holy Spirit to lay hands on the sick and they shall recover to cast out generational curses, demonic spirits that influence me in my home. Luke 10:17 verse through verse 19. I have the power I have power over the Enemy and nothing shall harm me. Philippians 4:19, my God shall supply all my needs according to his riches and glory. Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ. Colossians 2:7, I am firmly rooted, built up, established in my faith, and overflowing with gratitude. Psalm 66:8, I am called of God to be a voice over his praise.
Colossians 1:11, I am strengthened with Almighty according to God's power. Philippians 3:14, I press on in my calling towards God to the goal to receive my eternal prize. 2 Timothy 1:7, God has not given me a Spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. James 1 and 22 verse through verse 25, I am a doer of the Word and blessed in my actions. Revelations 12:11, I am an overcomer by the blood of the lamb and the Word of my testimony. Amen. Guys, this is the Word. This is the written Word. This Word was established for us and this is how we win in life. So let me talk to that a little bit because we talk about we win because he won because he wins. Right? Here's the deal with winning guys is I want us to understand winning is not the promotion. Winning is not the elevation in a career. Winning is not getting the new vehicle I wanted. It is not necessarily even getting anything that I want. Winning is that I can produce the fruit of the Spirit in the midst of the circumstances I go through. That's winning. That's how we win in life is that I produce the fruit of the Spirit in all circumstances. That's why it says count it all joy when you fall into various trials and tribulations. Amen.
So what we do is we have to put on the mind of Christ. I don't think the way Chad used to think. Chad was an insecure, unconfident, pretty beat up himself. I mean I had no confidence, right? I don't think that way anymore. I don't have to think that way anymore. This is what I'm saying is this is not a salvation. This salvation is the beginning of it all. It's a free gift. You receive it. Now God is calling us to go up closer to him. It's like John the Baptist said, "I must decrease so he may increase. " My thinking has to decrease the way my thoughts and my actions and the way I think. I don't It's like when I listen I listen to a lot of podcasts or different guys. But if I hear them start talking about like their opinions and this and this and this and this, man, I don't want people I want the Word. Amen. I want the Word because the Word is what sets us free. Whom the Son has set free is free indeed. Amen. That's what we need is the Word in our lives.
If we're not being washed and renewed in the Word, right? That is how we get set free. That is how do I elevate. How do we grow in faith? Faith comes by what? Hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Amen. So the more I hear the Word, the more I can let my faith rise up in me. So when circumstances like Esther and Brian and this circumstance happens, it's like, how do I have the faith like Jeremy and Nina to just continue to speak healing over their life? People ask me, "How's she doing? " Well, she's healed and she's whole and complete and lacking nothing. Amen. This is how we think. I think different now. I process different now, right? I don't think the old way. I don't think like I used to think. Amen. So, we speak and meditate on the Word to activate its power in our lives, bringing hope to the dead situations and aligning our circumstances with divine Truth. It's like this.
One of my favorite Psalms is Psalms chapter one says, "Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor sits in the seat of the scornful, nor walks in the path of sinners. " But he meditates on the law of the Lord day and night. And when he does that, this is where the change of the psalmist says this. He doesn't do all these things. It's not a do and don't do, right? But here's what it is. My meditation now it says, "Blessed is that man. He brings forth his fruit in its season and whose leaf shall not perish. He shall be like a tree like the rivers by the rivers of water that brings forth his fruit and everything he sets his hand to do it shall prosper. But I don't get to that point until I've starting to meditate on the Word of God day and night. Man, it's my it's what am I thinking? I'm on the Word. I'm in the Word. I'm meditating. I Because here's the deal. God doesn't just think for the here and now, right? He thinks generationally. So, he wasn't just thinking about Chad and my brokenness and healing me. He did. And he did that, but he was also thinking about those two men right here and my young girl because he didn't see they don't have to go through and live that because now I walk differently than what I was I once knew.
Now I raised them up in the ways of God. It's generational. He doesn't just want it for me. He wants it for their my children and their children and their children's children. Amen. He wants to bless us. He wants us to think differently. So I now can walk just as Jeremy talked about up here. He's we walk and we talk with him. And I just my days with him and I find peace in that. I want to what I want to do tonight is just lay the foundation of the importance of the Word in our lives. If I'm not in the Word, then I'm on my own thinking. And like I said, this is no guilt, condemnation. There's no shame in this, guys. I'm just telling us this is facts. If I don't get in the Word, I don't grow. This is why Jury's like, "Come to the men's Bible studies. Come and fellowship with us. ", one of the things I'll do, it's interesting because you get around guys that are confident in who they are in Christ. Let me tell you, when I train horses, what's interesting about how I train horses is sometimes when I deal with a very difficult horse that's got a bad past, I'll use a horse that's already been well trained that I've worked with that's confident in what I've taught it, the new things I've taught it, I'll use that horse to help break through to that horse that has struggles because the confidence of that horse, it will rub off on the other horse that has fear and torment throughout its life and body, right?
And I'll use that horse. I'm still in control. I'm still the one commanding, but I'll use the confidence of that horse. The same as the Father uses us, Jeremy and Nina and all these other people to speak life into you to build you up so that you go out. I'm spitting a lot. Sorry, guys. I'm seeing it. But to use Yes. Yes. to use you to now build up somebody else. But man, I'm telling you guys, if we're not in the Word and the Word is renewing our mind day and night and meditating on it, man, I want to be blessed. But what everything I put my hand to does prosper. It's not a matter of if. It does. Cuz it's the spoken Word. And it's his promise. That's one of his promises. Amen. So now I use those horses to go, "Hey, you're okay. He's good.
" That's me being the horse trainer. I'm good. I'm for his good. He'll supply all your needs that you ever thought. And he'll give you purpose and value that you didn't even know you could do. That's what God does for each one of us. And he uses men like Jeremy, Dan, Brad, and women like my beautiful wife, Holly, Nina, all you women out here. He'll use these things to build you up. And it's not just for us for here and now. That's what's beautiful about it. Because he's thinking about your kid. He's thinking about their kids. He's thinking generational down the line. And he goes, "HEY, I KNOW WHAT'S coming and I'm going to break through that curse and we can do it. You speak it. So, it's done. Amen. We don't have to live in the curse. I don't have to live in torment and fear anymore and unconfidence because it's just God. It's for God.
It's him. I don't have to be scared up here. I don't I used to hate to speak in front of people. I'm going to tell you, come school, college, we had a college in one of our freshman rooms, how they take the tour and all that stuff. And one of the rooms that we had the speaking classroom, they painted it all green cuz green is supposed to be a calming color. Like, bro, this ain't calming me. Like, I don't care. I'm like, I'm gonna slip my paper into the professor at the end of the class. Like, I didn't get a chance to read it. Sorry. Just take it. Like, I'll do anything. I hated to go in front of people. Like, it was trembling fear that would paralyze me. And that's what fear does. It paralyzes you. You no longer can think straight. I no longer can operate in the giftings that God has given me and anointed me with because I'm walking out of fear now. And it happens like that, right? At night time sometimes I was talking to another brother here at Bible study.
But at night sometimes you wake up in the middle of night and all the torment and fear of like what ifs, what ifs, what ifs, what ifs, what ifs. Man, I just got to get in the Word. I think it was I think it was my brother back there. Was he smitching it? Anyways, but you just get in the Word and it helps set you free and break you free from that torment. Right? I just I just got to get in the Word sometimes. I just got to get in the Word and go, "Hey Lord, just speak to me. I need something because I'm struggling here. Amen. I want to use this reference, guys, because I want us to understand in the Scripture and I don't want to put too much out here, but I do want you guys to know a little bit of this stuff, but and some of you already know it, so this is just reminders, but the Word is referenced several different to several different things in Scripture. I'm going to give you about half a doz or dozen different references it's referred to. I'm going to give the Scripture. I'm not going to read all the Scripture for time sake, but I do want to give you the Scripture and I want to give you also the symbol of what Word the Word is used in different parts of the Scripture. Okay, does that make sense to everybody? Am I making sense here? All right. So, one of the things that the Word is also known as is as a seed. That's Luke 8 11. Jesus talks about the parable of the seed, the swer.
Amen. All right. So, it's referred to as a seed. Another thing the Word is referred to as water. Ephesians 5 6 and 7 or sorry five chapter 5 26. It cleanses, refreshes and restores. Another thing that the Word is referred to as a mirror. James 1 23 which reflects the true spiritual condition. Another thing the Word is referenced to is Hebrews chapter 4:12. The sword referred to as the sword. It pierces, convicts, and divides soul and Spirit. Psalms 119 105 refers to the Word as the lamp and the light that guides and provides direction. Jeremiah 23:29 is refer the Word is referred to as fire. It purges sin and purifies. Jeremiah also in the same Scripture in 23:29 it refers to the Word as a hammer. It breaks down resistance and hard hearts. Hebrews 5:es 12-4 it refers to the Word as the food, the milk and the meat. It nourishes and sustains spiritual life. Psalms chapter 119 103 it refers to the Word as honey and it provides sweetness and spiritual delight. Psalms 19 verse 10 refers to the Word as gold represents preciousness and value.
There's one thing I want to reference to on all of this tonight is Stella brought the apple. Thank you. is the seed and I want to talk about the seed and I want to talk about the Word being the seed in our life and it tells us to put the seed or the Word on the tablets of our heart. Amen. And so what we do is I meditate on the Word day and night. I speak the Word over my family. I speak the Word over my life. I speak the Word over my you guys, my brothers and my sisters. I speak the Word over those that are lost, right? I pray over them. I speak the Word and then it continues to get on the inside of me and continues to wash me with the washing of the Word. Amen. But I look at this apple and this apple wouldn't be here without what? Without the seed. The fruit doesn't get produced without what? The seed. I can't produce just as it's a free gift to receive salvation. I cannot produce the fruit without the what is the Word. I cannot produce it. Chad cannot conjure up a good enough goodness out of Chad without the Word.
The Word is what produces the fruit in my life. Without the Word in my life, I can't produce the fruit of the Spirit. Does that make sense? The seed, the only reason the apple exists is because of the seed that was in it and that was planted in it. Amen. And the seed doesn't exist without what? The vine. Brad and Holly have this Scripture written on your on your on your building. I have to be connected to the vine that produces the seed that produces the fruit. I cannot produce the fruit without the Word. And I go back to this goes back to the importance of the Word in my life, man. I want the Word. I need the Word. It sustains me. Jesus when he was with his disciples, he said they were getting ready to go get food and Jesus said, "Leave me by it. " Great. And he said, and they brought back and they said, "Master, are you hungry? " He said, "No. " And he said basically like this, "I partake of food not of that every Word that proceed out of the mouth of the Father. " That is his food that sustained him.
Man, I just I just sometimes we get in situation. I just need the Word. I need somebody to speak the Word to me or I need to speak the Word over my life, over myself. Amen., so we know that the this is really awesome. I I was meditating on this and I was out working in the fields and the Lord just spoke to me and he referred to the apple and the seed in the apple and the Word of God and and then how and then the seed is protected by what? The outside of the of the apple, right? Also known as the skin or the flesh, right? So I kept meditating. I was like, Lord, what are you what are you saying? So how do I protect the Word? He says the psalmist said, I hide the Word in my heart that I may not sin against thee. Another place it says,"I write it on the tablets of my heart. " Right? So, how do I protect? I get the Word and as we know the parable, it talks about the stony ground and the thorny ground and all this stuff and the Devil came in and stole it and but the one that had the deep furrow, the one that dug deep and allowed the seed to go deep into him, it was planted and it became and it became fruitful in their lives. So, how do we protect the Word in my life? I got to get the Word and I want to protect it and I want to hold that Word dear to me, precious to me. And here's what here's what I feel like the Lord gave me and I want to give it to you guys. I protect it with my mouth.
I protect it with my eyes, protect it with my ears, and protect it with my mind because this is what I daily think about in the mind. I said it like I this is what the mouth just as we started guys, what do we start with? We started with a confession and then the very beginning Scripture I put up Proverbs 18 verse 21. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those that love it will eat its fruit. Guys, we're speaking death or we're speaking life over situations. It's that it's as simple as that. It says, what does it say? Sweet water and bitter water can't flow from the same well. I'm either speaking life into situations or I'm speaking death. It's black. It's simple as that. I'm speaking the Word, which is life, or I'm speaking what Chad thinks, which is not life. It's my old self. Amen. So, I protect it with my I protect it with my mouth by that starts with the confession that I wake up. I am blessed and highly favored. Amen. If he is for me, who could be against me? Everything I put my hand to is going to prosper.
I'm the head. I'm above and not below. He actually says he actually says that we are his inheritance. Did you all know that you are God's inheritance? He also says he's we are the apple of his eye. The tenderness of his eye, the tenderness. He cares for you. He loves you. Amen. This is why it's so important. I know I sound like a broken record, but this is why it's so important. If I don't get the Word, it I do not change. I could come to the Father and ask for salvation. And Lord, I believe in you. I want to. But if I don't get in the Word, then I'm not renewing my mind. And if I'm not renewing my mind, then I'm still walking in the old way of Chad. And like I said, there's no condemnation here. This is just the Lord convicts us because he wants us to grow. He breaks us so he can put us back together in his likeness.
But there is a breaking first. And that's why I get emotional when I read the Word because he breaks me. Every time I get in the Word, he tells me something else. I'm spitting again. And it just continues to change me and mold me. I don't want to be like the old me. I don't want to do. Paul says, "I struggle with it. " Right? The things I want to do, I don't do. The things I don't want to do, I do. There is a struggle. But when I get in the Word and I get around guys that are confident in who they are in Christ, man, it builds me up and it says you can do it. And I'm not saying you're not going to fail, but if you need what do you need? The Word tells us and here's the encouraging part. He's going to break us and he's going to shape us and build us up in him. But then he goes like this. He says, "And if you fall, you get back up. If you fall, you get back up. Don't quit.
" The Scripture says how many times in the New Testament to stand firm on what in Christ. We have to stand firm in him. So the mouth, we protect the Word in my heart by the mouth. It starts with confession. When there's power in our words, we have to know this, man. Even if I'm just barely tearing somebody down. what was I got to edify our pastors real quick. Jeremy and I first met them many years ago. many moons and it's the same with Brad and Holly. I met them at the first time we got together here and I just want to edify these guys because it is so cool. I got to know them and what's cool about it is they guard their ears and they guard their mouth and they guard what allow they allow people to say to them about other people because it's important because they don't want to know them in the flesh as Scripture says, right? I know no man in the flesh. And so they don't want to do that. So they don't need to hear the garbage because they know who that person can be in Christ. They may not be walking it, but they're going to be because I'm going to speak and I'm going to sew the Word, which is the seed into their life and somebody else is going to come on water. Hey, God gives the increase. I told you I'd get emotional. So just let me flow because this is what the Word does. I'll say it like Jeremy says, "We're going to if there's a crack in the window, we're going to break through. " And I say it with passion in me.
There's always been a Scripture that's been dear in Jeremiah. It says, "It was like a fire shut up in my bones that I couldn't contain. " And when I hear that Word, that's what the Word does. It puts a fire in you. I can't contain it. It sets me free. I think the Lord gets me I think I get emotional because I was so I don't know why. Anyway, so we're going to go there. We're not going to get we're not going to go there. The Lord's shaping me, molding me. I'll say that. The mouth. So, we we protect the Word with our mouth. This is what I speak is the Word. This is what I speak is with the Word. My eyes. Hebrews 12 says, it says, "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus. " So, I don't look at things I shouldn't be doing. I don't look at those things. I don't look at things.
It's not just a do and a don't. I'm telling you guys, just you fix your eyes on Jesus and every circumstance. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about. Every circumstance you go through, you fix your eyes on him. One of my favorite scriptures, Jehoshaphat, he there was armies encamped around them. They could have destroyed them weeks earlier or months or whatever it was. God told them not to. Now they come upon Israel to def defeat them. Jehoshaphat's like, "God, why didn't you let me destroy them when I had the chance? " Right? And my biggest part of that Scripture is this. Jehoshaphat said it like this. I don't know what to do. But he said, "But my eyes are upon you. " That's the change in the whole spot right there. And from that time forward, God said, "You're going to fast. You're going to do this. You're going to set the worshippers out and I'm going to annihilate the Enemy for you because you don't take your eyes off me. Don't take your eyes off me.
So, we fix our eyes upon Jesus in every circumstance. How do I protect the Word with my ears? Romans 10 says, "Faith comes by hearing and hearing from the Word of God. The more I hear it, the more my faith can rise up. " Anybody old school Pentecost or old school stuff? Rita Springer, my faith is rising up. She had a song that we used to worship to and I mean I would just be in my prayer closet just balling and it was a faith rising up because we'd be fighting for people's lives or we'd be fighting for people salvation to come to the Lord. Anyways, it's a good old song if you want to read a Springer. Love it. How do I also protect the Word in my heart? Proverbs 23 says, "So a man thinkketh in his heart, so is he. " Man, you got to know what you're thinking about yourself. You got to know what you who you are in Christ. You got to know it so firm that you won't be shaken when trials and tribulation come or when storm storms come to try to blow you down. I'm telling you, you got to know who you are. You got to think it and know it. Confession is made with the mouth. Belief is made in the heart. Right? After all, so I want to read this Scripture to you.
1 Corinthians chapter 3 verse five and n. This is Paul speaking to Corinthians and he says this. H let me get this a little closer. After all, who is Apollos? Who is Paul? We are only God's servants through who you believed the good news. It says each of us did the work of the Lord the Lord gave us. Paul said, I planted the seed in your hearts and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow. It is important. It's not important who does the planting or who does the watering. What's important is that God makes the seed grow. The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. For we are both God's workers. And you are God's field. You are God's building. I wanted to read that because it's knowing that God is planting something in us. God is doing a work in us and he keeps wanting to till and plant new vineyards in your life. He's wanting to break more ground in your life. He's wanting new wine skins to come forth so he can pour his Spirit upon you and in you more so and continue to build you and grow you so that your outreach and the ripple effect of your life continues to go and grow and grow and grow.
I want to say this. I've had men come along my life that have planted seeds in me. Seeds of discipline, seeds of hard work, seeds that I kicked and resisted for so long, but they wouldn't quit. They kept planting seeds and somebody else kept coming and watering. And God continued to build that seed in me. God continued to do those things. And I'm telling you guys, this is the purpose of the seed that we can produce the fruit. Jeremy mentioned this Scripture se several weeks ago, maybe months. Hebrews 12:11. No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening. It's painful, but afterward there will be a peaceful harvest for right living for those who are trained in this way. Man, discipline sucks. Amen. And when I had men coming at me and not coming at me, but speaking Word into me, I was like, "Man, would you just lay off a little bit, ? They would call me up like, "Hey, how you doing, Chad? " I'm like, "Good. " "Hey, man. You been in the Word today? " I'm like, ", no. " And it wasn't that they were trying to make me feel guilty.
They just checking up on a brother. Hey, you been in the Word? What's the Word for today? It's just challen. It's not a challenge. It's like, man, just build it up. What's the Word? What the Word? what's the Word God has got for you today? And it was calling me out and I didn't like it. And it was exposing darkness in my life that I was like, man, I didn't get into it yet. I haven't even talked to the Father. Matter of fact, I'm about my business today. what I'm saying? And it was, man, it was God just saying, man, get in the Word. And he's using brothers to come along and plant that seed. Plant that seed. Get in the Word. Renew that mind. Get your thinking straight.
So a man thinkketh in his heart. So is he? What are you thinking on today? Where's your meditation? I want to close with a Scripture. This is John chapter 15 13-1 17. And this Scripture is for some of us just a reminder. And if there's anybody in here that has not accepted the Lord before, this is a Scripture I want to read to you right now. John 15 13-1 17. There is no greater love than the than to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you, what I command. I no longer call you slaves because a master doesn't confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends. Since I've told you everything the Father told me, you didn't choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for using my name. This command, this is my command. Love each other, man. He's done it. And he's chose each one of us.
He's chosen us to produce lasting fruit, not temporary fruit. Did you hear? Lasting fruit. And man, the only way I get to keep producing this is by keeping the seed in me and connected to the vine so I stay connected. Amen. God has chosen each one of you for his masterpiece, his inheritance. He called you out of darkness and into his marvelous light. He chose you. All right, I'm going to close in prayer. Deather, Lord Jesus, we just give you praise and glory and honor. We thank you for your Word that has established in us that has set a foundation in us that won't be shaken. Father, we thank you for your Word, Father God. We thank you for your grace and your mercy that gives us room to grow in our lives. Allows you to work and allows us to continue to keep fighting and getting up even when we fail. Father, Lord, we thank you for that opportunity. We thank you for these brothers and sisters out here. I pray, Father God, that this Word went on deep soil, Father God, that they hear and do and become we become doers of your Word. Father, we thank you, Father, for all you've done, all you continue to do. We thank you for establishing us in your kingdom, Father God. We give you the praise and glory and honor in Jesus name.
Amen. Amen. Y'all give it up for Chad Johnson. I went ahead and added to our list of words emotional. Yeah. P how about passionate? How about love for the Word and love for God? I'll be honest and I'm bro I feel your tears because there are times when you realize this blessed life that you're living going I I'm here because somebody else was sewing seed when I didn't want to receive it and they were faithful and I can think of all the people. It's amazing. I just want to reinforce this point. The Word is our final authority. And can I help you with something? And I'm not going to get in any kind of Okay, there's a lot of churches in the world and and I'm going to tell you the Word is the final authority. It is not an authority. It is not it is not just some some things I can pull from and mix it with some other things. It's the final authority in your life. And so when we use words, if you're relatively new to Church, you're going to hear the Word. You're going to hear God's promises. You're going to hear God's Truth, God's Word. It's all one and the same.
What makes it a promise that's already fulfilled is because God doesn't change. So the promise, his Word is him. This is why Chad is passionate. What he's telling you right now, that seed of the Word will produce. It can't not produce in your life. The fruit of God can't not be there if you had receive the seed. That's why it's the soil of your heart. And I'm not trying to add to I'm just trying to deepseed what he's saying tonight. The Word is the final authority. Get to know it. We have Bible studies that if you can't make one of those Bible studies, we'll start another one. Start. I'll give you something to read. You can ask me. You can call me. We can talk about it. But you learn the Word. And if you learn the Word, then you can speak the Word and you can say the Word and you can talk the Word. And that's how that happens. And I'll leave you with one final thought.
You cannot control the thoughts necessarily that come into your mind, but you can control the words that come out of your mouth. And a Word is an expression of thought. And so the moment your thoughts are counter Word, counterruuth, antichrist opinion, Chad's thoughts, that's why I know the Word in my heart because I begin to speak the Word to counter those thoughts. I cannot I cannot go bad thought, bad thought. Where's a good thought? I need a good thought. I need a good thought. I simply I capture I take control of my mind by declaring I'm the head and not the tail. I'm above and not beneath. God's hands is on my life. He's anointed me. I'm seated in Heavenly places with Christ Jesus. Greater is he that's in me than he that's in the world. Whatever I put my hand to will prosper. And everywhere I go, his land God's given me. I carry his blessing. I'm in right standing with God. I'm sanctified by his Truth. I know God's voice and I hear his voice and I'm quick to follow. Man, that Word's got to be coming out of your mouth.
And you say, "Well, I don't know like that. " Good. Learn it. That was the message tonight. Learn it. Learn it. It's a hoodie who right there. Fine.
