Never been a big fan of that and I think most people are. It's like why do they always make us talk to people next to us [laughter] because it's good practice., speak life into somebody. It's funny. I'm this I'm going to derail for one second. I'm thinking about the academy kids. We're doing, chapel every morning and I get in their business pretty hard. I got 30 minutes with them every morning. And we're talking about the power of our words one time. And I'm like, and it's very easy for us to pull pick people apart. And I said, I said, I made them all. I said, pick somebody over here and say something great about them. What do you love about this person? What's great about this person? And it was just like I mean, you might as well have asked them to speak Chinese, ? There's like I mean I mean I like their hat, ? It's like come on, right? And it's because that's why but that is so much harder. It's real easy to tell them what they're not doing great. That's just comes natural for us, doesn't it?
But to speak life into somebody, man, we got to be intentional with it. And I challenge you to do that. Even if you have to do it in that awkward transition moment, man, be intentional to speak life in them., anybody jumping the river this week? Any river jumpers? That's what I'm talking about. You people are crazy. That's what everybody says. You guys are crazy. We don't have to jump. Just come celebrate with us, man., but it was fun. I'd like to give a little shout out to Brad, my good friend Brad right here. Brad wasn't able to be here for the plunge and that night went out took my Son and his Son and a couple gigging and before he went gigging he plunged by himself into the river because he is committed to the fam and being part of something. [cheering and applause] And so we as I wrapped up that service before we jumped, I said, "Man, we're going to plunge into God's promise this year and we proclaim God's promise on your life. " And I asked Lincoln, I go, "Lincoln," I said, "didu, did Brad make any noise when he came in and he goes, ", not really. " He goes, he went in and he came out, he goes, "Woo! " [laughter] Brad said it was MORE OF A WOO. BUT, Lincoln said it was woo., I said, "Yeah, I think a lot of people wooed that day.
" But, but it was great. I just want to follow up a little bit from what I said that day., and my biggest challenge to start the year, and this is what I want to talk about. God dropped in my heart this phrase, work the plan. And I'm going to try to expand on that a little bit tonight from New Year's Day talking about it. But what I want to recap for you on New Year's Day, the thing that I wanted to start the year off that I wanted you to hear is that most people will settle for being a servant in God's house and never seize the opportunity to be a Son or a daughter in God's house. And I'm just telling you, it's as simple as you going, "Wait a I heard it. I receive it. " And I'm going to expound for just a moment, but that was the main takeaway. I said other things and there are other things for you to get, but that was my main objective is that this year, man, we're not going to settle for less than God has for us. God wants to do more than you can imagine for you in your life. God who created the galaxies is very able to do more than you can drum up in your little finite mind of what you think is possible in your life this year. And it's going to start though with you receiving the benefit and the privilege and the honor of being a Son in the house. There is a distinction between a servant mindset and a Son's mindset. There is a difference between how a servant talks, how a servant behaves, what a servant's expectations are versus what a Son's expectations are, what a Son's behavior is, what a Son's attitude is, what a Son's thoughts and talks and language is. And there is a difference. And I'm not just talking about the perks that come with being a Son. I'm talking about what goes with the ownership of being a Son. The spiritual authority that you get to walk in that we just talked about that you put yourself in the position. You position your heart and your mind to understand that I'm a Son.
And we have to renew our mind and learn to think like a Son thinks. Now we have to learn to talk like a Son talks. Now, we have to understand the responsibility and the roles of being a Son or a daughter in God's house, God's family. He is our Heavenly Father. And so, I want to show you the verse. It's on the screen. It'll be Luke 15:E 19. We were talking about the story of the Prodigal Son. And I just highlighted sinner, servant, and Son. On Thursday, when he was in the pig pin, and most of us know the story, so I'm going to make this very brief. He was in the pig pit. He was away from God. That's where sinners live. Can I listen to me? Look at me. Whoop. You're not a sinner anymore if Jesus is Lord of your life. And I know we want to we want to fall on our sword and say, "Well, I'm just a sinner SAVED BY GRACE. " I KNOW YOU'RE SAVED BY GRACE, BUT YOU'VE BEEN saved by grace. You're not a sinner anymore.
You were a sinner who's been saved by grace. Now you're the righteous of God in Christ Jesus. Now you're a Son. You were once a stray from him. And now you are a Son again. You are a daughter again. You are in right standing with the Father and right standing with the family. That's what that robe represents. That robe of righteousness. Washed up, cleaned up. You got washed with the Word. They gave him a bath. Got him cleaned up. Put a robe on him. They put that authority back on his finger that says he's a Son. They got sandals on him because when slaves when slaves and servants, they would take their shoes from him. Put shoes back on the Son. Killed the fatted calf. Prosperity. Things that he didn't deserve, God gave to him.
That's the GRACE OF God. WE DON'T DESERVE SALVATION. You're saved by grace through faith. You are not saved by faith. You are saved by God's generosity, by God's gift, by God's grace through your faith in Jesus. And so, he's in the pig pin. That's when he's living apart from God. And he has this mindset coming home. He understands how miserable he is. And the Bible says that when he came to his senses, this is where in modern day 2026 vernacular, I'm going to start going to Church. That's returning home, not expecting God's promise and God's blessing. Just want to get out of the pig pin. Just want to come back home. And he came back home understanding this was his plan to talk to his Father. And he said this to his Father who when he saw him long off ran at him. That's the heart and character of our God to charge after you to pursue you. You make one step toward him, he comes and floods you. That's what the Father did. Ran at him. But this is the Son's mindset.
I am no longer worthy to be called your Son. I have been a sinner. I have I have taken this gift of life and I have been selfish with it and done what I wanted and I have gone and done and spent and and I have been in the pig pit and I've been miserable. I took what I was born into and I threw it away and I'm no longer worthy to be called your Son. And this is where most of us live in our mindset as Christians. Man, I don't I I don't deserve all that. I hear all those promises. You're just making it about name it and claim it and health and wealth and ALL THIS STUFF. YES, HEALTH AND WEALTH FOR YOU, INCREASE, PROSPERITY, ELEVATION, BLESSING, but we will settle FOR JUST BEING A SERVANT. WHY? BECAUSE IT'S BETTER THAN THE PIG PIN. I just I'm not worthy to be called your Son. Look what he says. Please take me on as a hired servant. That's a very humble approach. I respect that in the sun. But it's a mentality that I'm attacking right here that we process and carry in our life. I know what I've done. And because I know my own thoughts and intentions, I know what I didn't do that I thought I was going to do. I know myself.
According to Romans 7, like Paul said, the things I want to do, I'm not doing. The things I don't want to do, I'm doing. I know me. Oh, wretched man that I am. Who's going to save me? I Who's going to FIX THIS? I'M JACKED UP. AND I don't deserve to be called a Son. I don't deserve all that increase. I don't deserve promise. I don't deserve blessing. I don't deserve to be honored. I don't deserve to be valued. You don't know what I've done. You don't know where I've been. You don't know. THE Father NEVER asked him where you've been. He didn't say, and I say this all the time, he wasn't sitting on the porch tapping his foot. About time you get in here. Where have you been?
Look at you. You are a hot mess. That's never what he said. He ran at him. He hugged him. The Son says this to him. The Father never even acknowledges it. Take him to the house. Get him cleaned up. Put the ring on him. Put the robe on him. Why? This Son of mine who was once dead and apart from me, he's come home. There was never the idea that God had to make him a servant. Not one thought about it. The moment he saw him, sunship. The moment God sees you returning to him, putting your hope and trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ, opening your heart to his love through the finished work of Jesus Christ, which is him. Right? The moment you put your faith, your trust in him, and you come to him, he floods you and he never entertains once about you earning your right back as a Son. And this is how we live our Christian life, trying to earn our good graces back.
That's why Paul said in Galatians, he go, don't get tied up to a yoke of bondage again. The same way you came to him is the same way you walk with him. How did you come to him? Humble and then all of a sudden, no, no, no, no, Dad. Seriously, not the fatted calf., let me work for a couple weeks and then maybe we can look at doing a calf thing. No, no, Dad. Not the ring yet. Just let me hang out with the like we that's HOW WE TALK TO God. NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. God, that's seriously that's too much. We don't need to do that. I just I'm just thankful to get to be here. Bless the Lord. I'm just thankful to get to be here, Church. I'm thankful to live Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I want I want to learn to think and operate in my role as a Son. And so, here's what's amazing to me about this and why the first thing that I want to highlight about working the plan, and I think there's more that God's going to unfold in my heart, and I know what it is for me, but I thought I'd pay it forward to you.
But look at this. This young man right here, he's working his plan. Here's my plan. I'm going to go home and I'm going to tell my dad that I'm not worthy to be called a Son. I just want to be a servant. I just take me out. This is his plan. This was his plan. And he's working the plan. It took a lot of humility to come back home. It takes a lot of humility to come to Church for the first time because how jacked up you are. all the things you're not doing right today. [snorts], what you would have, could have, and should have done. all those things, right? So, it takes a certain amount of humility to go, I'm going anyway. I don't care what anybody says about me. I don't care what anybody thinks about me. Here's what I can tell you and here's what I will require of you. And here's what I will, if I may, be so bold to demand of you is that we will be the friendliest group of people this town has ever seen. We will welcome every person that walks in here.
And yes, we're not naive to dumb things or certain things. But let me tell you something. The Gospel is for everyone. And I don't care how they walk in this building. By God, we're going to love them. We're going to give them a cup of coffee. You're going to come sit with me and let's start getting better. Everybody's going to grow. Everybody's in recovery. Can I help you? Everybody's in recovery. Everybody's being restored. Everybody's being redeemed. Everybody's being cleaned up. Everybody in here is learning. Nobody in here has arrived to the full understanding and knowledge of who God is in your lives. We are all learning. Tonight, the Word is speaking to everybody in different ways. Everybody in here is dealing with something. Everybody in here is overcoming something.
And so when somebody walks in this room, they have enough shame and enough guilt and enough heartache and they've been living in pig pins. When they walk in, man, we're going to have the heart of the Father. It's Christ to me that's going to run and tackle that individual and love them and say, "G, you get on in here, you wild cat. Let me get you a cup of coffee and come sit with me. You get in here and drive it like you stole it is what Pastor Bill told me. You come have some dinner with us here. Come sing. You come sit up by me. " That's who we are. That's who we want to be. But he's working his plan. But I want to emphasize one more time the nature and the character of God. This is the singular one most important understanding Revelation and you got to have about who God is. If God is up there waiting to strike you and judge you and throw something at you, then that is not there's going to be no joy, no peace. You're going to live on the edge. You're gonna be trying to perform for him. You're gonna be trying to earn your good graces. you're going to try to qualify yourself from a servant to a Son. You're going to be thinking because God's he's tapping his foot and he's all this. No, no, no.
He ran at him. He did not even acknowledge that. But thankfully, because of his humility and willingness to work his plan, God is a God who does exceedingly abundantly above all that you could dare to ask, think, or imagine. The best he could think, or imagine was to be a servant. I'll take it. It's better than his pig pin. that was that he was in such a low place. The best he could imagine for himself is if I could just have a servant's quarters, that'd be awesome. I'm sleeping out here with these pigs right now. And as he began to work his plan, God took the little bit, the two lo the two fish and the five loaves and he exceeded expectations. He took the humility of this young Son coming home and he exceeded this young Son's expectations. Can I tell you something? That God is putting things in your life to do, to act on, to to serve, to sacrifice, to give. Whatever it's going to be, God's going to speak to your heart. And if you will simply work the plan, God will exceed your expectations with the outcome of that plan. I promise he will do more than you think he can do. And I'm not telling you there won't be some degree of fatigue or some degree of exhaustion or some degree of humility or some degree of challenge to acting on it. It had to be hard for him. I imagine the Son walking with his head down, probably completely exhausted and weak and famished because he hadn't eaten real food in who knows how long. He's feeling the shame and the guilt and he's walking like this.
And the dad is running like this. And I'm just telling you, the way yourself is completely rooted and based on how God. I'm just telling you, if God on the front porch like this, then you're going to see yourself with that guilt and the shame. But if God running at you like this, you're going to see yourself how valuable and how loved and how celebrated you are. And he's not questioning where you've been or how you got there or why you got there. He's just like, "Hey. I'm glad you're home. I'm glad you're home. " Somebody walks in. Hey man, I'm glad you're home. Hey, I'm glad you're here. I'm real glad you're here. Ephesians 3:20. If you just put it up there, I want you to see it for yourself. Look how it says here in the New Living Translation. All it says now. Right now. Right now with what God's already done in your life right now because you've already won 2026. Right now because he leads you in triumph right now. All glory to God.
All glory to God. Everything that's great in your life now. Glory to God. Everything that's coming in your life in 2006. Glory to God. Everything in your life is pointed and directed to him now. EVERYTHING. ALL THAT I [screaming] HAVE IS YOURS, Lord. ALL THAT I AM IS UNTO you now Lord. NOW ALL GLORY TO God who is able. Everybody say God is able. Because you we don't if like I don't know if God wants. I don't know if he's I don't know if he's able. I don't know if he can. Hush. He's able. God is able through his mighty power. Not yours. Through his mighty power that's at work within you. that thing that's moving in you right now that can you can I help you?
That's why there is so much resistance to getting in the room every Sunday. There's resistance on the day like I look and I'm guilty of this yo right here man I'll get that thing to want to get in the Word or to want to man I'm gonna spend some time with the Lord and then I sit down and there goes the distraction here's my phone there's a TV the dog barks and I looked out the window and there's a deer and now I'm and it's like wh I forgot and I'll miss the moment but that resistance is like well I don't know if I want to sit down and really get into it right now I got a lot going on today it's a resistance why because when you get in this place God starts working in you his power is working in you. It's working. What's it working to do? To accomplish. It's working in you to accomplish something. I've got to be here because you're in here right now. And the Word is working IN YOUR LIFE. WHY? TO ACCOMPLISH something in you. To accomplish something through you. To overcome something for you, in you, through you. The Word it's working. Why? Because you put your because YOU SANG THE SONG. We ran it again. Run it again. Are we ever going to DO A DIFFERENT STYLE? ARE WE ALWAYS GOING TO DO ONE OR TWO SONGS THEN YOU PREACH? WHO CARES?
[screaming] RUN IT AGAIN. I JUST NEED THE Word IN MY LIFE. CAN WE CHANGE THE LIGHTING? CAN WE TURN YOU DOWN? WILL YOU STOP SPITTING AND STUFF? CAN WE PLAY THIS? CAN WE STOP IT? THE Word. RUN IT AGAIN. WHY? BECAUSE WHEN YOU PUT YOURSELF IN THE ROOM AND IN THE PRESENCE OF God, IT STARTS WORKING IN YOU to do what? To accomplish what? How much? Infinitely more. Infinitely more. There's your new neckt. Infinitely more. Write it down. God, [laughter] you want one, don't you? God wants to do infinitely more in your life.
God is working in you to accomplish infinitely more than we could ask or think. I just take me as a hired servant. God's like, "You kidding me? " Hush. And go get in the tub. Get cleaned up. Get your Get your clothes on. Go get his clothes. Get his clothes on him. Go find his ring. Get him some shoes. Man, that's what we're going to do. And look, it's not always going to be easy. That approach home isn't always going to be easy. That simple obedience isn't always going to be easy. that element because let me tell you, I've said it many times, but your flesh hates it. The Spirit of God is working. Your flesh hates the idea of coming to Church, but your Spirit's longing for this moment. Your flesh hates the idea of giving something financially, but your heart is satisfied and fulfilled and giving because the Bible says it's better to give than receive. DOESN'T IT FEEL BETTER TO give presents at Christmas than does give?
Sometimes it's hard to receive one. I love giving one. There's something about it that's it's more rewarding. Don't get me wrong, I like getting them. That's fun. But something like giving one when you and when they you knew they wanted it was a surprise. You got them. We gave the kids some Dude Perfect things and whatever they're called, tour tickets, whatever it is, and tried to be sneaky with it and the whole thing, right? But it was like it I it made me tear up because I'm a like that and because it was like this is this feels good to give it. It's good. Anyway, it's not always going to be easy because I had to buy those tickets. what I'm saying? But it felt good to give it. It felt good to see it. Okay, here's my point. The world, listen to me. The world philosophy, the world mentality, when I say the world, I'm not talking about the beauty of creation. We're talking about the world's way of thinking. The world is promoting something that will not produce the outcome you want in your life. [snorts] It's attractive.
It is sparkly. It is easy. It is comfortable. And it is rooted in selfishness because it's only about you. Everything about the kingdom is about him. So we crucify ourselves regularly to do what he wants us to do. I don't want to die on a cross, but if it's what you want, I will. I don't want to give, but if it's what you want, I will. I don't want to serve, but if it's what you want, I will. I don't want to go to Church tonight, but it's what you want, I will. I want what he wants. the attraction, the easiness, and I'm just going to use what's right in front of us because we're at Church. It's easier for me to even want to stay home and sit on that couch and watch a football game. To me, that's enticing. To me, that's comfortable. It's easy. It's easy to sleep in a little bit longer. It's e it's easy to not do what God's asking. It's easier, but it will never produce the life, the healing, the fruit that only God can produce in our life. It's going to be it's going to require me committing to it.
It's going to require my effort. Hebrews 12:11 on the screen, it says that no discipline is pleasurable while it's happening. It's painful. And you say, "Well, what does it got to do with it? " The B, this whole chapter is talking about how the Lord corrects us. The Lord coaches us. The Lord is teaching us. He's disciplining us. Dis, listen to me. Another thing to write down. Discipline is not punishment. Punishment is its own thing. Jesus took your punishment on the cross. The discipline is any loving parent, coaching or a loving coach or teacher, coaching, teaching. Why? You want to be good at something, you've got to get good at the disciplines of it. You want to be a great basketball player, there's disciplines that you have to practice and you become better at it. There's disciplines that go with being a business owner. There's disciplines that go with building things. There's disciplines that go with fishing.
There's disciplines that go if you want to get good at it, you've got to practice the disciplines. And the discipline is not always fun. Run it again. That's the discipline. I don't want to run it again. I just want to go get a Gatorade and sit down in my locker. It's hot out here. I'm ready to get these pads off. Run it again. We're going to run it again. We're going to run it again. That discipline is not enjoyable while it's happening. But listen, it's even painful. But in the end, afterwards, when it's over, when you have crucified that flesh and done what God has asked you to do, in the end, there's a peaceful harvest. There's a result that only God can produce because you allowed God to be God in you and through you to do exceedingly abundantly above. That little act of inviting somebody to the brodown could put them in the room that unlocks everything in their life and changes the rest of their future and their kids' future. It's like, well, I don't know if I can invite people. All you GOT TO DO IS INVITE SOMEBODY. And there could be a harvest that changes their eternity. It's simple.
It's the little things. Everything about the kingdom is giving and giving it away. We're giving our time and our offering to cook food and giving of our time and to help the kids and we're giving our time to play music and we're giving our time to prepare a message and we're giving our time to do all these things. Why? Because there's a peaceful harvest of those little things that happens in our life for those who are trained in this way and trained in this way. Let me give you two more verses and I got to start wrapping up. I always pay my notes forward to the next week. Galatians chapter 5. Those who belong to Christ Jesus, have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature, the flesh, watch to his cross. Oh, and crucified them there. We'll read it one more time so it jumps out you like it jumped out of me. They have nailed that sinful nature, that selfish nature, that the passions and desires to gratify the flesh, to gratify myself. I took that and I nailed it to his cross. I don't have to get on the cross. His cross. And I crucified that selfish thing on that cross there. He's my righteousness. He's my deliverance from that selfishness. He's my deliverance from that ego. He's my deliverance from that pride.
He's my deliverance that thereby leads to my destruction. He sent his Word. He sent his Son. He sent his Word to heal me and deliver me from my destructions. Verse 25. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit's leading in every part of our lives. Since I crucified my sinful nature there on his cross, I am now alive unto God. And now that I'm alive under God, let me follow him. Let me daily die to that and follow his leadership in my life. I'm a Son now. I get to take ownership of this life. I take ownership of stewarding and managing. God created us. He created man, both male and female. And he said, "Be fruitful and multiply and and steward and govern the earth. Take dominion. Govern it. You get to govern 2026. You are not at the mercy of 2026. " Hello.
Hear it. You are in the driver's seat to govern this year. You have been given the authority. And if you will deny that selfish ambition, the selfishness, and give that ambition to the glory of God through everything that you're doing, [snorts] then you will produce and live and follow the life and produce the life of God. Look at chapter 8 of Romans verse 12. Therefore, anytime therefore, you got to find out what it's there for. And we're going to look at that next week, but right now we're going to look at verse 12. Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, look at this verbiage. You have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. I like that verbiage. You have no obligation to do what that nurture urges you to do. And look, it's urging it's urging you to do. You have no responsibility to that. You have the ability to go, I can discern. The Bible says the gift of discernment. I can discern that's not of the Holy Spirit. I can discern. That is a selfish motive. I can discern that that I'm cutting corners. I can discern that I'm lying to myself and cheating.
I can discern this. I can discern what's of God and what's not of God. I can discern when it's him. There's a peace there. There's a safety and counsel. But the the world, the flesh, is urging me to do things for me. It's trying, listen to me, the Devil, who's the God of this world, is trying to lure me away from sunship. It's trying to lure me to a pig pin. It's trying to sell me. When the Son left the house the first time, he left because he wanted to go play. It was easier. It was fun. He didn't have to deal with the responsibilities of being a Son. Just want to go out and go play. And the Bible says that sin is pleasurable for a season. It's fun for a season, but in the end it produces death. In the end, it's going to have an emptiness. In the end, there's going to be a void. In the end, it's going to let you down. In the end, what do you have left?
He says this, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. Verse 13, for if you live by its dictates, it's trying. Listen to me. The God of this world and that self is trying to dictate your 2026. It is trying to dictate your marriage. It is trying to dictate your children and their future. It is trying to dictate your finances. It is trying to dictate an outcome that is not of God for you. It is pulling you away. It is constant enmity with God. The flesh and the Spirit do not they will never be in agreement ever. And so this thing that's urging you is wanting to dictate an outcome in your life that is not the fruit of righteousness or holiness which is the fulfillment and contentment that only God can bring. So I have to die daily take that selfish thing and sacrifice it and trust me it urges every day. So I have to kill it every day. And sometimes my moment by moment that thing that says I'm not going to give into this temptation or I am going to go do this thing. I'm going to I'm going to dict I'm going I'm going to exercise my spiritual authority to govern and dictate over it. I'm going to let the Word and the Truth of God dictate. For if you live by its dictates, you will die. In the end, there will be loss. There will be separation.
There will be brokenness. There will be heartache. There will be pain. But if through the power of the Spirit, you put to death the deeds or the actions of your sinful nature, you will live. There is the life of God for you to live Heaven on earth. Not just listen, not just the sweet by and by. Not just eternity, not just Heaven, although it really takes it up a notch when we go there. You get to taste, live, and experience the life of God on earth. You were created to have dominion and to govern and to walk to be fruitful and to multiply, to elevate, to grow. God's commanded his blessing on your life. Put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live. Verse 14, for all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. You are a Son. You are a daughter. Thereby, what does it mean to be a Son or a daughter? It means I'm led by the Father's direction in the house. I serve the vision of the of the Father of the house. I'm here to execute his vision. I'm here to execute his commission. I'm here to execute his plan.
I'm here to be on his team. I'm his Son. I enjoy the benefits of being a Son and being in the home and being the family. But he's the Father. He sets the course. And if I will be led by the Spirit, then that is me, the equivalent of being a Son. That is me taking ownership to say, "I'm going to be a Son. I'm going to think like a Son. I'm going to act like a Son. " Which means I'm going to put away my childish selfish ambition, and I'm going to let the Holy Spirit lead my life. Quit negotiating God's promise in your life by doing stupid stuff that is antirist. Some of us are doing things that we know are not right and we have made it okay. We have justified it and we have found neutral ground with this stuff that is robbing you from the fruit that God has for you. Man, God's got a result that he wants to produce in your life that you cannot produce. I'm going to leave you with this thought and I'm closing. I was setting these chairs up for Church for the 21st service the on December 21st and I was listening to Force Frank's Christmas album. My daughter's going to laugh at me right now, but that's okay. I was listening to it and I and I the song was about seeing Christmas through their eyes and I might have been sleepy or something, but I got all weepy again. I was the only guy in here. And then the last verse says something that when they're older and you probably live far away and you're going to come home and all this stuff.
Okay, I was having a moment. But I can tell you with all of my heart that I cried out from my heart. All I want them to know, all I want you to know is the goodness of God. And I can't produce it for them in and of myself. I will never be able to produce his goodness. So I have to humble myself and allow his goodness to operate in me so that they can taste his goodness. You have to get out of the way. God listen, the Bible says his goodness and his mercy will come upon you. His blessings will come upon you and overtake you. His goodness and mercy follow you all the days of your life. God wants to shower you with his goodness this year. But you've got to get out of the way so his goodness can flood your heart to produce goodness around you. You're a vessel of healing exceedingly abundantly above according to his power, his goodness that works in you. But I have to crucify my flesh so that he can be God in my life. Let me tell you something. God's going to be God. what that means? goodness, healing, restoration, redemption, joy, peace. What do you want? Provision, righteousness, holiness, sanctification, victory, winning.
What do you want? Those are covenant names of God. That's who he is. God's going to be himself. And if I will let God become into my life and be God in my life, God's going to produce God in me and through me. And I'm just telling you, I know for myself, I got room for more God. I got I got stuff. I got Jeremy to get out of the way so God can come in. I do. I'm going to go ahead and got a hunch that some of y'all do, too. Man, let's get it out of the way so God can be God. Okay. Father, we love you and we praise you for the privilege it is to be your children. God, the privilege it is to be your children, to know you, and to love you, and to serve you. Father, in the name of Jesus, we humble ourselves right now, Church, right where you're sitting. And we're going to be done in a couple minutes, but take this moment as God stirred in your heart. And it's all there. This is your moment to make a commitment to him. God, we humble ourselves. I humble myself before you, God.
I recognize that you alone are good. It's your goodness. It's your mercy. It's your grace. God, I am selfish in and of myself. There's a resistance to you. But God, I thank you for Christ in me. God, I thank you for your mercy that's new every day and your grace that's sufficient every day. God, that I don't get what I deserve and you give me what I don't deserve. God, I deserve servants quarters at best, but you give me sunship. We receive the position of your child tonight. Church, where you're at, where you're sitting, it's your it's yours to receive it. That's mine. I receive that. I I claim that I'm a Son of God. I'm a daughter of God. I'm a child of God. I'm in the position of a joint heir with Jesus. I'm in the family. I'm welcomed into the family.
We receive it tonight by faith, God. We receive it by faith of what Jesus did that qualifies us to be in the family now. Jesus, we exalt your name. You have saved us. You have qualified us. You have rescued us. And you have brought us home. We receive it. We're coming home with you tonight and throughout this year. God, I pray for a Holy conviction in our heart. God, you are gentle and kind. And I pray for that Holy conviction of gentleness in our hearts to steer us and direct us. God, I declare in Jesus name that we hear your Holy voice and no other voice will we follow. We will be led by your Spirit and we will walk as your children in the name of Jesus. And everybody that receives it says, "Amen.
