Now, we're going to get into Word today. I've been talking for the last month about humility over hustle. And a lot of times what I mean by that is we've made it about our performance. And you will never ever ever have to perform for God. That is never what you have to do. You're not performing for him. It's not a dog and pony show. It's not a circus act. He's not the ringleader. He's not throwing us biscuits and treats when we do all the right things. We are not performing for God. We are surrendering our heart. We humble ourselves and go from my preference to his preference. When I do that, I humble myself, then the results will be there. They will follow through. I will find myself with more patience for people because I'm finding the heart of God for people. When I surrender my preferences to his preferences, that's the humility that God requires of us. At some point, I simply recognize my need for a Savior. At some point I go, man, I don't know what this whole world has to offer me. I've been on the highs.
I've been in the lows. I've been everywhere. I've done everything. And I've never found anything that satisfies me in the same way. And when I recognize my need, it's like I've done everything, had everything, seen everything, and I don't get the point of it. I recognize I have need. I can't do enough right. I can't perform. I'll never perform well enough. And so I don't have to perform for him. I surrender my heart and he comes in. And so the question is, does the Truth govern in your heart? If he's the Truth, if his Word is Truth, have we welcomed the Truth to govern in my heart? See, we we talk about all the different voices that we can have influencing our life. I said this last week. I'm kind of reviewing setting up where I'm going tonight because we got to let the Truth, the voice of Truth, govern my heart. My heart is who I am. It's not little miniature Jesus, the man living in my aorta pump. It is it is the Spirit of Truth that lives in the core of who I am as a man. And I let the Truth of God's Word govern my life in the direction I go.
But many of us are allowing the voices of other people and other opinions govern and dictate my surrender, what I'm surrendered to. Because here's the deal. Listen to me. Everybody in here submitted to something. Whether you realize it or not, you have surrendered or submitted to something in your life. You are letting something set the standards and the boundaries for you. Whether you're acknowledging it or not, you have you have, if nothing else, by default, you are allowing something some kind of information, something to govern and give you direction. You have surrendered to it and allowed it to have leadership in your life. And so I want you to recognize that I have to invite Truth and allow Truth and give Truth a voice in my life, the dominant voice in my life. And so when I get around other people in my world, does their voice sound like the voice of Truth? Am I going to let Morgan speak into my life any point? Chad and I were talking about parenting before a while ago. I'm gonna let Chad have a voice in my life. Why? Because when he talks to me, it's going to sound like the voice of Truth. He's not the voice of Truth, but because I know his heart's surrendered to it and he values it, when he talks to me, it's going to sound like Truth. So, I will allow him to have a voice in my life. Who do you allow to have a voice in your life? Who are you taking direction from? Who are you letting influence you?
Who are you letting set the standards? I used to talk to youth kids in this way. I don't know what's popular now, but when I did used to talk to youth kids then like 50 Cent and different rappers and stuff were real popular real and I said look if you want to allow them to be your entertainment that's your preference but understand something they are entertainers. They are getting paid a lot of money to entertain you. But just because you think they're cool and because you like the beat that they pick to their song does not give them permission to set the standards and be the voice of direction in your life. You're going to let rap lyrics and song lyrics set the standard for your life. You're going to let a character in a TV show be the standard in your life. You're going to let somebody's opinion that they saw a new moon or something and set the standard for your life. Man, I'm coming back to the anchor. anchor my soul to the Truth of the Word of God. That's the foundation of what is right and wrong. And listen, you already know it because it's written on your hearts. Nobody here has to tell you that stealing is wrong. You already know it. HOW DO IT? Because he's written his moral compass on your heart. You already know that lying and stealing and killing is wrong. To steal somebody's life is wrong. You already know to take it. Like, you already know.
YOU JUST KNOW IT. If you've never heard the good news of the Gospel, you just know that's not right because it's written on your heart. So, I had a different plan to go in, but I had a moment this week where I needed to have my own moment with God. I need it every day. I don't want it to sound like that. I just had a moment in a day where I'm like, there's a lot going on. There's a lot of moving parts. I don't know if I'm qualified for all this. I don't know if I can handle all this. I don't know if I'm I don't know if I'm man enough for all this. I don't know if I can do this. I don't know. I don't know how to handle I don't know what to do next. And I'm just kind of wrestling and I'm like, God, I need I need a breath from you. I don't know if this makes sense to you, but I know what I'm saying. And I was sitting there and I So, you got to be intentional. Do how easy like I'll go out on the porch to like try to get quiet with God and I'll start looking at all the things I need to do in my yard. I know y'all know what I'm talking about. I'll sit down and read the Bible and I'll think, "Wait a minute. I need to go ahead and clean this right over here in the kitchen and I'll try to make the surroundings perfect before I actually get in the Word and let do.
" So, I was very intentional because I had the house to myself for the moment and I just went and put some worship music on and I just began to pray and I'm telling you everything in me. I'm looking out the cat. I got like or out the window. I got like eight cats on my back porch now that I'm not happy about. And I'm sitting thinking, "Golly, God, deliver me. " And then and then and then I'm walking over here to this side of the house cuz I'm walking around praying and I'm looking at stuff and finally I just got to stand there and I'm like God I need I just need to experience and be in your presence for a minute cuz that's where the like the lift happens. That's where the like oh my gosh the rest for my soul happens. And then I just picked up the Word so I could start reading the Word and this is where I came and I figure if it's good for me it's good for you. Amen. So, that's where we're GOING TONIGHT. AND IT'S probably the most encouraging, most powerful chapter in the Bible. And I know that sounds crazy to say because it's the Bible, but this joker rocks. And I want you to read with me. Romans chapter 8. And I'm going to read the first 15 verses. And this is kind of how we do the men's Bible study, by the way. All you fellas and ladies, we have Bible studies on Tuesday, Thursday mornings. And I'm just telling you, if you don't have a Bible, I'll get you one. If you don't know where the books of the Bible are, welcome to the club. Most people don't, but I'm just telling you, we're going to sit there and we read and then we just start talking and it's so healthy for the guys.
I don't know what the girls do. I'm not at that one, but it seems healthy. Okay? They're doing their thing and lives are being touched. And if you can get up early enough and want to make it a priority, 6:00 and 6:30 in the morning, 6 for the fellas at the ranch house, 6:30 for the ladies, Tuesdays and Thursdays. But I want to do this in the same fashion. I'm going to read and then I'm going to highlight some things. Okay, we made it convenient for you. If you don't have a Bible, you can look at this TV. Verse one. So now. Everybody say now. Okay, this is my fun preacher rhetorical question. When is now? Now. It's right now. Okay, so everybody read it with me. What's it say? So now right this minute. There is no condemnation.
I'm going to read the first few verses. I'm going to come back. So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the lifegiving Spirit has freed you from the power that leads to death. I can't go through all of I got to highlight things. Okay. Verse one, there's no condemnation. What that means is condemned means you're like you're completely finalized and written off. There is no finalization for you if you're in Christ Jesus. You have not been written off because you're in Christ. You might be stumbling. You might be going through some stuff, but there is no finalization because you're in Christ. There's no condemnation. There's no there's no complete separation from God. There's no hopelessness from God. You are not condemned if you're in Christ Jesus. That means that means you're not you're not completely cast off away from him. There are people who are living apart from him. What we're going to try to break down, but if you are in Christ Jesus, you are not somebody who has been permanently cast off. There's no condemnation if you have made mistakes, which you all have and I have.
You do not have to sit in here tonight with condemnation for your past and when right now. And because you belong to him, the power of the lifegiving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin. What's the power of sin? This is Church vernacular that we never really think about the power of sin. What is sin? Sin is separated from God. I'm apart from him. In other words, we're walking in different directions. God is walking, but I'm over here walking apart from him. We are not arm-in- arm aligned. I'm not aligned in Truth with him. I'm separate from him doing my own thing. And the power of that means that if I've ever sinned, then I'm a slave of that sin. What that means is if I've ever done the crime, I got to do the time. If you've ever made a mistake, you got to pay the piper. Whatever verbiage you like to say. Okay? If you sinned, the consequences of sin is death. If I choose to walk apart from God, then I'm going to deal with the consequences of not having God in my life. The power of sin has been broken.
So now I can walk in alignment with him again. Are you with me? You're invited to walk with Truth again. The Spirit, lifegiving Spirit has freed you from the power of being apart from God that leads to death. Verse three, the law of Moses. Pause. If Bible's new to you, the law is God's law. He sets the standard. He gave Moses the law. When it says the law of Moses, Moses was the guy who God gave the law to. And this was the old contract, the old covenant. And he set the standards. And it was very detailed and it was very difficult. But those who were inside the contract, inside the covenant, inside the old law would walk in it. And God had selected a group of people to display his glory through them to the rest of the world. The Old Testament is a type and a shadow of the New Testament. I'm not trying to get lost in that. What I want you to understand is not Moses's law. It's God's law that was given to Moses for God's people. But that law was unable to save us.
Why? Because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So, let me help you. Everybody in here is weak. You don't have to sit here and think, "Well, I just can't get it right. " You're in the norm. All of us have this weakness that is called this sinful nature. This natural ent this natural thing that wants to walk and do my own thing. This natural pride that wants to say I don't need that. I'm good enough. I can do it by myself. This thing that that pulls away and just says, "Man, I don't want to choose his way. I just rather do it my way. I don't need a crutch. " All the kind of BS that comes into however you want to stiff arm it. The bottom line is you're rejecting the Truth. It was unable to save us because the weakness of sin nature. Watch this. So God did. God did.
God did. I'm gonna do this till everybody gets there. God did. You talk about a free gift, people. Amen. The weakness, your weakness, your failures, your frailty can't quite get it right. And if you get it right, you can't consistently get it right. And you'll never be good enough. And if you sin once, you got to pay the piper. So you couldn't get it fixed yourself. So God did. God dipped in his pocket and he did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son. Watch in a body like your body. This is where he got little words, I know, but some of y'all can squint and see it still, right? Watch this. He sent his own Son. Watch. That's his Spirit in his creation. This is why we hear the sons and daughters of God.
We're his creation. We're his children, which we're going to get to in a few verses hopefully. But it says he sent his Son. In other words, he sent his Spirit in the likeness of his creation. A boy born of a virgin. All the things that we know in a body. He sent his Spirit in a body like you have. He lived on earth in a human body just like you have a human body that we sinners have. And in that body, look in that body. What body? The historical evidence of the real man, Jesus. In that body. in that physical body, God, the Creator of Heaven and earth, declared an end to sin's control over you. In other words, this breach between God and I has been repaired and God declared an end to it by giving Jesus to die in that body. God fixed it. John chapter 4, God is Spirit. Okay? Spirit of Truth. Get with me. The Truth came and it lived in a body like you and me.
And that body was sacrificed and killed to declare God, the Spirit of Truth was declaring an end to sin's control. In other words, I was trapped. I didn't have an answer. And he got he answered it for me. He solved the problem for me. He fixed the problem for me. He invited me back. He created an end to it over by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. Verse four, he did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied because God is just. There had to be some kind of payment for the sin. He couldn't just let it go. So because he's just, he took care of it. The law would be sat watch would be fully satisfied for us who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit. Okay. Are you allowing the Truth to govern your heart? If I am, I'm following the Truth. Now look what it says. The law would be fully satisfied for us who no longer follow our sinful nature. Now it's in your court. That breach has been broken.
And so now you have the invitation to walk in alignment with Truth, to allow Truth to govern, to invite Truth, to give your heart to Truth. You have the opportunity to do that because it's been broken. But you have the opportunity to follow this sinful nature. In other words, you get to choose to live apart from God or now you get to choose to live in alignment with God. That's it. That's what happened. In other words, he unlocked the jail cell, opened the door. you now have the opportunity to stay in here or you can come back over here and live with him. Those are the two options. This is so simple and so powerful. Look at verse five. Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things. Okay, this is simple, Chad. That means if I live over here apart from God, what do I think about? Not God things. We see people and it's like that dude is an idiot. I hate that person. the world sucks. We're never going to make it. Money's hard.
Whatever. Right? Like, I'll never be them. I'll never be that. And we can't see what God sees because I live over here apart from God. Are you with me? So, this is what it says. If those who are dominated by the sinful nature, in other words, I let it govern my heart, myself, and my pride, then I'm going to think about sinful things. But those who are surrendered to the Holy Spirit, surrendered to Truth, think about things that please God. So now I see you differently. I see I have hope for you. I see your strengths. I see your giftings. I see your talent. I see what God's doing in your life. I see I have a different vision for the future. I can see God's promise for this building. I can see God's promise for these people. I can see God's plan for people. I can see people differently.
I can see through the lens of Truth. Verse six. So letting whose control is that now? Who's responsible? You are and I am. If you let your sinful nature control your mind, if you choose to let it be in charge, then what's going to happen? It's going to lead to death. In other words, I'm going to live a life and have the results in life that are apart from God. I'm not going to get God results. And I know everybody IN HERE CAN ATTEST to this. At some point, you say, "Okay, God, I'm gonna give it to you. " And in the end, it was healthier. In the end, it was better. You're seeing God heal and restore and reconcile things in your life. It didn't happen overnight any faster than planting a seed, grew a tree the next day. But as you begin to submit and trust God's Word and let it govern, God's healing God's Word heals things. It's healing your life. It's healing your heart. It's healing your relationships. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death apart from life.
But letting the Spirit, in other words, surrendering to the Truth, renewing your mind to God's Word, beginning to talk like God talks, beginning to choose his way over your way, it leads to life and peace. It doesn't say it leads to the absence of problems. It doesn't lead to the absence of adversity. It leads to life and peace within the adversity and the challenges you face. Jesus said, "My peace I leave with you, not like the world gives. " In other words, the peace that we think we want is the absence of adversity. What God wants to do is give you peace within the world of the adversity you're living in. He wants to be your Truth and wants to be your peace, right? So, letting the Spirit control your mind. Verse seven, for the sinful nature is always hostile to God. Watch this. It never did obey God's law. Look at this licky cookies. Where'd it go? And it never this this alignment, this selfishness, this sinful nature, this carnal selfish flesh will never be in alignment with Truth. It won't. So, you can't say, "Well, I'm good over here and it's going to work out in the end and if I'm good enough and da da and it'll all work out in the end. " No, it doesn't. It will never work out right for you over here. In the end, you can have some happy moments, you can have some cheap thrills, you can have some moments, but the fulfillment is over here in the life.
That's why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature, watch can never please God, which means they can never walk with him and have a pleasing relationship. Some of you are good friends with people in here. And some of you may or may not like people in here. I don't know yet. But there's probably some people in your life you don't really like. So, you don't have a pleasing relationship with people who are directly rude and offensive to you. It's hard to have a great friendship and be pleasing with one another when there's no trust, when there's intentional offense, intentional disrespect for the other one. How can you have a pleasing relationship with God when you choose to live apart from him and live in a way that just says, "I don't need you. I don't want you. I don't value you. " This is what it's saying. So, you can never walk in alignment with God over there. Verse 9, but you are not controlled by your sinful nature. Can I get a hoodie? Who? If you have made Jesus Lord of your life, if you recognize the free gift of God dipping in his pocket, if you recognize the true message of the Gospel that you're loved and you're valued and he rescues you and invites you back, if you've accepted that invitation, if you've acknowledged that as a as a payment for your sin that we are slave to, then I'm no longer condemned and I'm not controlled by this world of sinful nature. I'm not controlled by it. I'm not under the consequences of my sin anymore. I don't live under the consequences of my foolishness anymore. That's why I was having a conversation with a young person that is just getting their life back with God.
And I said, "Listen to me. " She This person is trying to get some things back in order and believing God for things. And I said, "Listen to me. Please listen to what even y'all listen what I'm telling you. Do not let the Devil tell you that you don't deserve it or you're not qualified for it. If old things have passed away and all things are new and I'm not living over here in the world of sin anymore and I'm back in alignment with God, then the blessing of God's on my life and I can expect God's blessing in my life. But if I come from here and I come over here and I thank God that he saved me, but I don't believe that it's available for me, then I might as well stay over here. Everything changed when I stepped back in alignment with God. Everything and the past is behind me. And now I CAN LOOK FORWARD AND GO, I'M GOING THERE. I want that. I'm going to go to life and peace. I'm going to get the Truth in my heart and renew my mind so I CAN THINK LIKE God and let it lead me. Let it lead me. Let it lead me. That means I'm not there yet maybe, but let it lead me to life and peace. You guys are making me work hard. You are controlled by the Spirit. Watch. If you have the Spirit of God living in you and then it says this in princip says then remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.
That's referencing verse eight. In verse eight you can't have a pleasing God pleasing relationship with God if you don't have the Spirit of God in you. If you if you still live over there. All right. Verse 10. And Christ lives within you. His anointing, God's presence, God's light, God's Truth, God's Spirit lives within you. I need I JUST I NEED Y'ALL'S FACES TO ACT LIKE YOU'RE NOT JUST LIKE dreading me right now. Okay. What are you doing? Okay. Just like a I'm with you., anything. I'll take anything. Christ lives within you. So even though your body will die, now let's backtrack for just a minute. Don't worry about putting on the TV. But it says this, in that body, God declared an end. He sent his own Son in a body like these bodies we have. So you have a body.
Here's what it says now in verse 10. Christ, God's presence lives within you. Truth, purpose, fulfillment, clarity lives within you. So even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life. This is what 2 Corinthians 4 says. It's got this awesome treasure in these fragile clay jars. Even though my body is dying daily, my Spirit is being renewed every day. Even though my body is getting older, and we all talk about my knees and my back and my hairy back and ALL THE THINGS. IT'S LIKE, LISTEN, LIFE IS CHANGING. YOUR BODY IS LIKE IT'S AGING OUT. I'm just here to help you. Let me just BE CLEAR. YOUR PHYSICAL BODY IS AGING OUT. YOU ONLY GOT SO MANY MORE DAYS. I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY YOU GOT, BUT YOU ONLY GOT SO MANY MORE DAYS. BUT EVEN THOUGH YOUR BODY'S AGING OUT TONIGHT, MY Spirit is BEING RENEWED. IT'S ALIVE AND IT'S BECOMING STRONGER EVERY DAY. THAT'S WHAT THIS LIFE OF God IS. IT'S LIKE I'M LIVING WITH PURPOSE IN MY 40S, IN MY 50S, in my 60s. There's more purpose.
Slower pace, but greater purpose because it's his Spirit in me. This is the same Word that's in John 10:10 that the Enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But Jesus said, "I've come to give you life and life more abundantly like this fulfilling life. " Not just breath that you breathe, but contentment and fulfillment and purpose and value, man. what I mean? Verse 11, the Spirit of God who raised the body of Jesus. The Spirit of God THAT RAISED THE BODY of Jesus from the dead. You guys know that story, right? Lives in you. Thank you. THAT WAS THE BEST GOLF CLAP FOR THE GREATEST NEWS IN THE WORLD I'VE EVER HEARD. That's fantastic about the God thing. I'm super excited about that. Woo. Okay. The Spirit of God WHO RAISED THE BODY OF Jesus in history from the dead. That same Spirit lives in you. And just AS God RAISED Christ Jesus from the dead, watch, he will GIVE LIFE TO your decaying, DYING, HAIRYBACK BODY. Talk to me. I want to say all the hairy backs chant, but let's not do that.
Let's not do that. Listen to me. the life. He, the same Spirit, the same Truth, THE SAME God, THE SAME ONE WHO CONQUERED DEATH IS THE SAME ONE WHO LIVES in you. And he will give life to your mortal body. Even though your body is aging out, even though things are changing, there's life in me. You carry life. And every ONE OF WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. If you've given Jesus that place in your life by this same Spirit living within you. All right, here we go. Last few verses. I'm gonna get you out of here by nine o'clock. Verse 12. Therefore, dear brother, therefore, BECAUSE OF ALL THAT, BECAUSE OF ALL THAT, THEREFORE, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges. I just can't help it. I just it's just it's the way I've always been. It's just the way I was brought up. It's just I just can't get it right. I'll just never be able to do that. You have no obligation.
You are not required to stay in this place. You have been invited back to Truth. You have no obligation to stay there and do what that life urges you to do. And watch. It's urging you. Don't you don't want to go to Church tonight. It's hot. Jeremy never turns the air on. Like, you got beef with everything. You're like, what? I'm just going to I'm not going to get in the Word. I'm going to go get on the porch, get some quiet time. Never mind. I'm going to go pick up sticks in my yard. Right? Like we just the sinful thing urges it urges to stay over here and not engage with this. Okay. Verse 13. For if you live by its dictates, this life over here is trying to dictate your future. Listen, this over here is trying to control and dictate your future.
And if you give into it, it will. BUT YOU HAVE NO OBLIGATION to it. You've been set free from it. For if you live by his dictates, you will die. But if through THE POWER OF WHAT God HAS DONE, you put to death SOMEBODY'S GOING TO DIE. Somebody's going to die. Either your sinful nature is going to be put to death or you're going to say live in it and end up in a place of death. But something's going to die. So it says this, "But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live in the Truth and the life and the liberty that comes from it. " Verse 14, for all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. And people will say this real sloppily. We're all children of God. No, no, no, no, no. We're all God's creation. Yeah. The only ones that have been invited, have been adopted in as his children are the ones who have accepted the invitation from Christ. Are you listening to me? Look up here. Okay. The only ones that are the children of God are the ones who've accepted the invitation and are watch are accepting the adoption papers.
God's extending his adoption papers to all of you. And you will choose to accept those papers and sign and receive his invitation. Otherwise, you're just his creation, which is awesome. But he gave his Son to redeem his creation back to him and be family. So, watch. Let's keep reading the last few verses. Verse 15. So, you have not received a Spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God's Spirit. Oh my goodness. You have received the Spirit of eternal Truth. You have received the presence of the mighty Creator of all things. You have received his nature on the inside of you. You have come in alignment with him. And you say, "Well, I'm not perfect yet. " Duh. THAT'S NOT HOW YOU GOT HERE. Now that you're here, he does the cleaning. You don't just get a fish out of the RIVER AND BITE ITS head off. You caught Well, some of us might I don't know.
I don't I haven't. But you get the fish. There's some cleaning that happens before you consume. Right. He says this God's Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now, everybody say now. Now. When is now? Okay. Now we call him Abba Father. All that means is now we don't just have awareness about him. We have an intimacy with him. Now I learn of him. Now we walk together. Now we're we're Father Son. We're intimate. There's closeness. I can I can tell him my deepest secrets and concerns and worries and he can speak life into me. We walk together. We talk together.
Verse 16, for his Spirit joins with our Spirit to affirm that we're God's children. Verse 17, and since we are his children. Since we are his children, we are also his heirs. In fact, together with Christ, we are heirs of God's glory. You have something to look forward to. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Let me give you some clarity. What that means is you're going to share in his suffering. Meaning the Spirit of God came in the likeness of creation and endured the brokenness of this world. He was rejected. He was spit upon. He was punched. He was beat. You don't have to go to the cross. That's not the sufferings that means. It means you got to pick up your cross and die yourself like he did. It means you got to endure and keep your focus on the Truth and not give in to the brokenness of the world. You're dealing by living in a broken world. You're dealing with the shrapnel of sin all around you, but you get to live victoriously in spite of it all around you. This is what this has been saying the whole time.
If you're his child, then you're an heir and you're an heir to his glory. That means you have something to look forward to. In the meantime, we're dealing with the suffering of the world. We're dealing with the darkness of evil that still rules in the world. And it's all around us. We're not submitted to it. I've been invited. I live in the light. I live in the Truth. But it's all around me. And I might be persecuted because I choose to live here. I might get rejected because of my choice to trust the Truth. In the same way Jesus got rejected, I might not get invited to as many parties. There's a lot of people that don't want me around. There's a lot of people that I'm kind of a buzzkill for him now because when I walk in the room, it's like, "Oh, dear God, the preacher guy's here. Everybody's got to behave. Hurry back, right? " Like, because watch. Not because of me. It's not because of me.
It's because of what I'm carrying. And it deals with people's hearts and they're like, what? I don't like when he comes around. And so what do they want to do? They want to get rid of me. But it's not me. It's the Truth that comes out of my mouth that they don't want to deal with because they got to deal with it. And I'm not picking on anyone or anything. It's the same when you walk in the room. At least I hope it is. I hope it's the same. Oh, great. Mila's here. Party's over. Oh great, Nah's here. We're going to get a tongue lashing. That's not true. But oh great, here we go. The right like because they're that's the sufferings. And in the worst case scenario, people have lost their life for this cause.
People have, let me say it differently, have given their life for this cause. And all I'm saying is I'm going to be that guy. Why? Because I'm a child. because I see it. I understand it. I got the Truth in me. Now I understand I'm a child. Now I understand I'm a joint heir. Now I have God's glory to look forward to. Now I understand that's everything for me. And so I gladly welcome the suffering. What seriously what's the world going to throw at you that hasn't already been thrown at you? What do you what are you going to face in the next how many years of your life while your body's decaying that is going to rattle you from this Truth? It's not going to rattle me from anything. It doesn't matter what happens in the world. The world, listen to me, the world's on a crash course. We're not going to fix the world. And everybody's like, "Well, okay, here we go. " You're not.
We're not going to fix it. We can mend a couple things. We can hit a better season for a while, but it is constantly getting worse and destroy. It's destroying. It's eating itself. We're not going to fix it. We're only going to invite people out of it. Hey, this thing's about to blow any minute. I'd like you to come with me. Trust me, it's cool over here. Right. So, here's my closing and question for you. This is how I wrote it down. Do you need affirmation in your heart tonight? Verse 16. You guys want to come over here? Verse 16. For the Spirit joins with our Spirit to affirm that we are God's children. Watch. His Spirit joins with my Spirit to affirm that we're God's children.
Do you need any affirmation in your heart tonight? Do you need any confidence boost in your heart tonight? Do you need any kind of encouragement that can only come from the affirmation of his Spirit in your life tonight? Then here's my question. Here's my challenge to you. They're going to sing this song. Let the words minister to you. At some point, they may invite you to stand, but this is your response to what I've been hollering and spitting and spewing about, reading God's Word, trying to paint a clear picture for you. You repent. Meaning, okay, I was over here living here and I realize it's been paid for and I've been invited. So, I'm going to come out of this jail cell because he's opened the door. and I'm going to turn from it. I'm going to repent from this and I'm going to come over here and I'm going to put a value on Truth. I'm going to put a value on his presence. I'm going to put a value on his leadership. I'm going to put a value on his way of how to live my life. And when I do that, watch, I'm in I'm not really inviting him because he's inviting me. So, what I'm doing is giving him lordship. I'm giving him governance in my heart for the rest of my days. When I do that, you're inviting the Spirit of God to come and dwell in you.
You're inviting the Truth to reign in your heart. And it will flood your heart with affirmation and confidence. And you will cry out FROM YOUR HEART. YO, I SEE YOU, DAD. I SEE YOU, God. I SEE you for who you are. IT WILL CRY OUT, ABA Father. BECAUSE his Spirit comes to me and it affirms. I'm like, "YES, I GOT IT. I GET IT. I'm right. You're right. And now I get to live the rest of my days with this. " That's the invitation. All right.
