Last few weeks, we talked a little bit about the idea of buyin., what a buyin is, what it looks like, man. Jesus chose you. He pursued you. He gave his life for you. God created you. God formed you. God is for you. God is God has redeemed you. God rescues you. God leads you. God, it's all him. In him we live, move, have our being. And so, he has chased us down. He has he has paid the price for our shortcomings. And we don't have to argue the fact that we got shortcomings. Everybody in here is deficient. Everybody in here is flawed. Everybody's here made mistakes. We recognize all that.
We recognize the need that somebody somehow becomes our righteousness. And this is the thrill of it, man. I had this kind of just little picture in my mind. The idea that, maybe you've heard this before, you've been around a Church, but the idea that man, you're going to stand before God by yourself and you're going to be accountable for your life and the race that you ran and everybody up there is going to be deficient. Every one of us that stands before God by ourselves and in and of ourselves does not have enough to qualify to meet the standard of his holiness. But we get to stand there and point at Jesus and say that man right there is my righteousness. And that sounds that to me that verbiage hit differently in my own mind because it just is that simple. That gentleman right there, this man Jesus right here, he's my righteousness. He's what qualifies me today. And because of that, the reality of that statement, the reality of that gift, the reality of that love compels me to want to follow him. If he loves me like that, if he's that passionate about me, if he's that committed to me, if it is, and if it is real, and if it is true, and if that love is that great, then it's got to compel me some kind of response from me. And most of us would like to keep it at bay. We'd like to keep it at a distance. We'd like to be the ones in control. We'd like to be the ones that set the parameters and the boundaries, but the reality is he's the one that said follow me. We're not telling him to follow us. He f we follow him and he sets the parameters. He sets the guidelines. We acknowledge the fact that he is Truth. And if he is Truth and his Truth is liberating, it's better.
His way is better. His way of doing things is better. Man, when we do God's when we do relationships God's way, we get better results when we take it into our own hands and do it the way we want to do it. because in society this is acceptable and this behavior is acceptable and this is okay and we so we justify our behavior. It's never going to produce God results. It just can't. It just won't. The words that don't that don't line up with God's Word, the Truth are going to not ever produce the results that God's Word does. And so we have to recognize that. So there's got to be some kind of buy in that if I see his love and I see his invitation and I see his faithfulness, then I want to follow him. I should be compelled. And here's the reality. I if if you're like, "Well, I mean, I get it, but I'm not like super motivated, super inspired. " Then you may not fully get it yet. And that's kind of a reality check. You may not fully have grasped it yet. And that's not a knock. I'm not condemning anybody. I'm saying wrestle with it. God, help me understand this better.
Let me see your heart differently. God, let me see myself the way me. Do you? Because see, it's hard for some of us to grasp the idea how passionate God is about you because all your mistakes. all your junk. all your flaws. all your issues. what you did today, much less yesterday and last year and the year before. you and what you meant to do and you didn't do it. what you thought you should have done and didn't do it. all that stuff and the great heinous things that maybe you did in your lifetime at some point. And you have trouble just letting yourself be qualified. And so it's hard to see yourself as passionate and as val I mean as valuable and passionate and as loved as God sees you. The idea that while we were still a sinner, Christ would die for you. While you had nothing to off well still have nothing to really offer him that he needs from you. He just wants from you. He wants your life. He wants your attention. But he doesn't need you to exist. He doesn't need you to accomplish anything.
He wants you to benefit from him. He created he picked you he formed you and he while you had nothing to offer him or denying him by with any kind of disdain or hatred or whatever it could have been wrestling looking for other things whatever it was choosing your own selfish way which we all have at some point to some degree he was still loving you that's why the idea that God's faithfulness is so remarkable because you start to realize that we have been so faithless in so many different times of our life even as mature believers or Christians is sometimes we can be very reluctant to step out in faith. We can be faithless at certain times. We can feel a conviction about the Holy Spirit to do something and still as a mature believer still be gosh second guessing myself, doubting myself, questioning myself and then even though we become faithless, God is so patient with us. God remains faithful. He stays true to who he is. God doesn't change. The Bible says that every good and perfect gift comes from him. And in him there's no shifting shadows. He's not waking up in a different mood today. He is the way, the Truth, and the life. And that's just who he is. He doesn't He doesn't vary. He doesn't shift. He's not He's not having a mood swing today. If he said it yesterday, it's still true today, and it'll be true tomorrow. It's eternal. He's eternal. And his and he is Truth. His way is Truth.
So, what I want to talk to you tonight a little bit about is I want to challenge us with our own identity, our own training, our own behaviors of how we grow. And there was a particular verse in Scripture that jumped out to me this week and I want to I want to expound on it tonight. But it in the New King James Version, it says this, "Sanctify them by your Truth. " Sanctify is a a Word that we don't use every day, but the version you're going to see tonight says to make Holy. Well, Holy is not a Word we really use every day. And so it simply means this, to be set apart. See, God is set apart from the world. God created the world. He He doesn't exist in it. He's not succumbed to it. He's outside of it. And this is stuff that rattles our little pee brains. Okay? This is stuff that's like, "Wait, I don't understand. I know this is a faith thing. " Okay? You're the little Play-Doh figure trying to figure out the one that figured that created you. You're you're the you're the nine-year-old Son with Mr. T jewelry on tonight if you haven't seen him yet. Which I gave him some money to go to Hobby Lobby and that's what he came home with.
Gold chains. It was fantastic. Okay. He doesn't understand the economy. He doesn't understand business. He doesn't understand those kind of things. He just wants to know if he can get some money, go buy some more gold chains. That's all he wants to know, right? He doesn't understand how things operate and function. Okay? And it's the same way with us. God is outside of it. But they but I need him to trust me. I need him to know that I love him. I need him to know that I'm committed to him. And he knows that so when I say yes or no, he can get on board with it. He may not always like it, but he can get on board with it because he knows I have his best interest in mind. This is the same thing we are with God the Father. We sang it tonight. He's our Father.
He's our friend. We can trust him. I can trust him. I can trust his way. I don't necessarily have to like it, but I can trust him with it. But what he wants to do is he wants to set you apart in the same way that he set apart. You're his creation. And when he created you, he created you in his image and his likeness. You are created differently than everything else in creation. You are created with a Spirit on the inside of you. You are created to walk and talk with the Creator. Nothing else was created like that. His life is in it. His life is in the trees. His life is in the animals. His life is in it. His presence is everywhere. But he created you and separated you differently. And then there was a breach. There was a break.
And we've talked about this. Everybody knows the story. Adam and Eve, there was a breach and a break and they recognized their shame and their guilt and they were living in it. And that's how we still live today. That's what that sin is. We live in that sin. We live in that shame. We live in that guilt. We live in that funk. We live in that brokenness. We live in that disqualification. We live in that sense of failure. We live in that sense of not meeting the standard enough. Or man, we live in that world of pride and ego that says, "I am I am all that in a box of chocolates. I am I am the man. You guys need to get on my page. " Whatever it is. And we don't humble ourselves enough to recognize that I didn't even pick being born. So why can I be so prideful like that? I'm a self-made man.
Oh yeah. How'd you get here, bro? How'd you how'd you how'd you how'd you win that race? How'd you get picked being born? But see, we miss it. And so what God created when he said he said, "I made man in my in my image. " And he said, "This is very good. " And he gave them dominion. Adam and Eve separate themselves. They run and they hide. They cover themselves and God comes looking for them. They didn't come looking for God. God came looking for them. That's why you're here tonight because God came looking for you constantly. He's constantly calling you. Adam, where are you? Right. Tom, where are you? Ava, where are you? Chad, where are you?
Jeremy, where are you? And they said, we're over here hiding because we are naked and we are ashamed and we are guilt because we are disqualified because we don't meet up. because we know now we know now that you look down on us because we're not we're not the same people. And he said, "Who told you that? Who said that to you? They separate themselves. " And listen, this is what we all do. We separate ourselves from God because well, we're disqualified and we're and we're separated. We're just we're just in the mix of this world we live in. But I'm going to show you tonight that you're not you were not created to be in the mix of this world. It's not just well my lot in life and whatever the world throws me today and just living by default. Man, you were built to be in lock step with God. You were built with the privilege to get to walk and talk with him and be set apart with purpose on this earth. Let's look at John chapter 17 verse 13. It'll be on the TV over here. This is the New Living Translation. And just a little context for this first line. Jesus is this is just before Jesus is about to go into Jerusalem and the crucifixion process and the arrest and everything. And he's praying. If you go back and read this whole chapter, it's in red letters.
He's praying. He's talking to the Father. And he says this in verse 13. He says, "Now I'm coming to you. " This is this is the context. I'm I'm I've been here for 33 years. I've been doing ministry for three years and now we're coming to the main mission and I'm coming back to you. Like I'm coming to the end of this journey. He said, "Now I'm coming to you. " And I told them many things while I was with them. He's talking about his disciples. Watch how this is worded. I'm going to try to ex expose some things. I told them many things while I was with them in this world. Listen to the distinction. While I was with them in this world, he's a Heavenly creature. Again, you have to understand this. The Bible says that God is Spirit. You're a Spirit in a human body and a natural body. You're his likeness and his image on the earth he's created.
And he says this, Jesus came from Heaven, a Heavenly person in the likeness of man. And he says, while I was with them in this world, so that they could be filled with my joy. Jesus told you a lot of stuff. Why? So you could be filled with his joy. So if you're not living with the joy, you might be listening to the wrong message. Jesus said, "I came I told them a lot of stuff so that I came down here in their world where they're at currently and told a lot of great things so that they could be filled with my joy. So that you could live in this world with his joy. " Verse 14. I have given them your Word. Watch. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world just as I do not belong to the world. Can the distinction with what we're doing here? They don't belong. You don't watch. This is cray. You don't belong to the world and it's all you've known. So now it's like, well, this is starting to sound kind of crazy, Jeremy. It's got kind of spooky. No, I'm telling you, the one that you came from created the world and he created us to have dominion in the world and he created us to be able to walk and talk with him and that breach came into play and we and we got separated from it.
And so he comes in and he's like, "No, no, no. It's much better than you think it is. It's a much greater life. You're not alone. You're not You're not in this old contract of performance. " No, no, no. Listen, you can. I want you I want to write my laws on your heart. I want you to talk like me, think like me, be with me, walk with me. I want to come into your world. I want you to enjoy the benefit of having me as you live in this world. This is what he did with Adam and Eve. He created them. He put them in the garden. He said, "Work it. " Work is not a cuss Word. It is a four-letter Word, but it's not a cuss Word. God gave them work. It became toil and it became dysfunctional when they got removed out of the garden. But he gave them work.
He said, "Work the garden. " And what did he do? He walked with them and he talked with them and he lived with them. And they lived with him. And it was this vibe. It was this ecstasy, this great thing of living and walking and talking with the Creator. until they separate themselves. So then he comes into the world. This now it's there's been a sin. There's been a breach. There's been a separation. And he comes into the world that we live in. Left all of Heaven. Could have just wiped it out and been done with it. But comes in to redeem us back to him again. See God's heart. See the love. He says they do not belong. The world hates them. the listen, the world's system, the way the world operates doesn't like the message that you're hearing tonight.
That's why, and I'm not saying that it hasn't been miscommunicated or misrepresented in any way, but that's why a lot of people that aren't in here tonight, that don't go to Church anywhere, that have questions about Church, don't like it because the message doesn't line up with the reality that they're experiencing in the world. Oh, they're just preaching prosperity. Yes. Healthy biblical growth in your life. Prosperity. I would like to prosper. How many of you guys started a business to fail? It makes no sense. Why would you do that? How many of you got married to fail? [Laughter] Hey, you people raise your hands. There's gonna be an alt call after that. We haven't done one yet since we started this Church. I'm about to do an alt call right now. Okay, just to apparently there's a need for deliverance in their thinking. Okay, you don't do it to fail. You do it to win to succeed, right? And so we want to say we want life to be that way. So God's health, God's healing, God's prosperity, restoration, walking, that's what God wants with us. And so the world system cannot embrace this.
It's it's suppressive. It's exhausting. How many of you guys turned the news on this week and got encouraged? Real encouragement, not your preference of political, right? How many how many of you guys received lifegiving messaging from the television or the social media this week? Right? Like it's out there. We can find some stuff in social. We can find some ministry. In fact, my man John's putting it out there now for us for covenant. Man, what? It's out there. But I'm just telling you what the world's offering is not going to be lifegiving. Watch what he says. Verse 15. I'm not a W gosh. Look at this. Verse 15. Jesus says, I'm not asking you to take them out of the world. Dog gone.
Wouldn't that be so much easier? He just said, "The world's going to hate us, and I'm not asking you to take them out of it. " They're going to be faced with resistance, people that are going to be hating on them. And he said, "I'm not asking you to take them out of it. " Watch what he says, "But to keep them safe from the evil one. " Jesus is praying for you to protect a protection for you. And he says, "They do not belong to this world any more than I do. " Do you think like that? I mean, I don't I don't belong to this world. I'm a foreigner here. This is not my home. Are you able to think like that? It's new. If you're hearing it for the first time, it's it's like what? But if I if I'm a foreigner here, this starts to open up a whole beautiful door of what's available to me. If I'm not if I'm not of the world, then I'm not limited to what the world offers me. Hold on. I'm I'm actually of the kingdom. I'm actually of God in the world. That changes everything.
And to know that Jesus didn't want me out of the world. He wants me in the world. I wonder why. Maybe there's some mission, some purpose for me while I'm here, right? And so he says this in verse 16. They do not belong to this world anymore than I do. Look at verse 17. And he says, Lord Father God, make them Holy by your Truth. Sanctify them by your Truth. Teach them your Word, which is Truth. What's going to make you Holy? What's going to make you set apart is the different the different messaging of your of your DNA, the different messaging of your heart, the different messaging of your belief system, the diff the realization that Jesus is, the reality that God loves you, that the moment you understand that wait a minute, God is God chose me, God picked me, God. When that messaging becomes the center core of my life, it's like, "Oh my gosh, when I see Jesus on the cross as not just some necklace on your chain on your necklace or a decorative thing on your wall, but I see it for the love of God for me, his creation, it changes everything to know that I'm loved and valued like that. To know that he's available to me, to know that his Truth and when his Truth comes in and I begin to learn that I'm a masterpiece and I begin to learn that that nothing can separate me from his love. " talk about when I begin to learn that he heals me, that he forgives me, that he's my redemption and my justification and my righteous. When I begin to realize that, it's like, oh, oh, gone it. That's where the liberty comes in. That's where the freedom comes in. That's why when I stand before God, I'm like, hey, yeah, I messed up a lot. But that guy, that's my righteousness.
That's it. how liberating that is? That changes everything. Now it's like, "Oh gosh. " So now, now let me get more of this Truth in my life. What else does God say about me? Then I see the demonstration of his heart. What else does God say about me? And so, how do we get sanctified? How do we get set apart? With his Truth. Teach them your Word, which is Teach them your Word, which is Truth. Man, I got to get in the Word. We were just talking before service. He's like, "Man, I just want to learn the Word. I just want to be a disciple. I just want to grow. I just want to follow God. Cool. That's what Jesus wants for you.
You're in the right place. And so he says in verse 17, "Make them Holy by your Truth. Teach them your Word, which is Truth. " Verse 18, "Just as you sent me into the world, I'm sending them into the world. " Is this the same world that he said a few verses ago that they hate us? I'm sending them into the world. They're not going to understand them. They're not going to like them, but I'm going to send them in there. And then we want to get mad at God because we're facing resistance in this world. And he's like, "Yeah, I know. I sent you in there. I sent you in there to be liked. I sent you in there to bring healing. I sent you in there for a mission, for a purpose. You're not like them. Stop thinking you're like them. I've set you apart with my Truth. I set you apart with my Word. You stay connected to me. You keep your eyes on me.
You keep your attention on me. And I'm going to do a great work in life. Can I help you something? What you're what you listen, we train ourselves to look for things in every day. I'm going to I'm going to get really real and uncomfortable for some of us in here. When you're looking at inappropriate images and pictures and things and videos, you are re you are wiring and training yourself to look at everything that way. And things that aren't really there because your mind gets perverted and twisted and you're seeing things automatically because you've trained yourself to look for them. Watch. You're intentional to go look for them on a screen. So then when you're walking around, you just by default look for them. them. If you're listening to lyrics and words that are that are that are teaching you or challenging you something, then you're going to naturally look at that way. Your identity, what you derive your identity in is going to be how and look at other people. If you derive your identity in work, then you naturally judge other people based on their work ethic and their workload. I'm going to let this marinate for a minute. If you derive your identity in money, then you judge everybody else based on their money. If you derive your identity in your health and fitness, then you're sizing everybody else based on their health and fitness. If you derive your identity in Church and religion, then you are going to size and judge everybody else based on their duty and performance. But if you derive your identity in the mercy and the grace and the righteousness and the redemption of the Lord Jesus Christ, then you will you will see everybody else through the lens of grace and mercy and righteousness and in people's life. The world is pulling you wants to pull us away.
Listen, God is the very heartbeat and the pulse of the world that you live in. It exists because of him. He is present in the garden and he's saying where are you? He is present and available for you today saying where are you? And we're hiding behind health and fitness. We're hiding behind money. We're hiding behind work. We're hiding behind we're hiding. We don't want to expose ourselves and say I'm right here. I need you. I don't want to come out and be in the light. I don't want to I don't want to be I'm So we hide behind it. And here's the deal. We have the ability because all of that is in our face constantly. We have to go to work. We have to deal with paying the bills. We have to deal with trying to take care of our health and do better and all the things. We have to deal with those things. We make an effort to attend services. We make an effort to do that.
But what they are is they become forms of veils and and distraction and blinders to seeing him and our focus being on him. He says, "Sanctify them by your Truth, by your Word. " And we have all these other things pulling for our attention. And he's the very heartbeat and the very pulse of our existence. He's the very breath, the center, the core of everything that we have and live in. But we're dancing with all the stuff that's in front of us, all the stuff that we see. And we're and we're and we're falling in line with some of those teachings, some of those thoughts, and missing the opportunity that of walking directly in line with him. See, when I when I can get my focus, my eyes, this is why Colossians 3:2, you can write it down, memorize it, whatever, get it TED. Says this says that I set my mind on things above. Hebrews says, I fixed my eyes on Jesus, the author and finished my faith. I have to be locked in. I train myself to see him. See, we have a statement like the cup, the glass is either half empty or half full. Can I tell you what the Bible says? Your glass is overflowing. And we're wrestling with whether we're half empty or half full. Oh, congrats. You're more of a half full guy. Sweet. You're a little more positive.
Now, let me tell you who I am. I'm an expectation that everywhere I go, my cup's overflowing. I only expect to be have more than enough. I only expect him to be provision. I only expect him to be my healing, my righteous. Everywhere I go, in every season, in every circumstance, my cup's overflowing. I don't have to try to find the positive in it. I can I should I mean we can talk about the rain. We can talk about work. Everybody is aware of our surrounding our situation. who I am. the landing. Man, we we didn't get to do any business yesterday. It's a it's a decent hit. And I can say well at least or I can just go my cup's overflowing. Well, how can you say that because you didn't have day because my hope's not in that. Is it real? Is it hard? Is it challenging? Sure.
And it's different challenges for different people. Well, my Father's having a different challenge, right? But is God still God? Okay. So, now you got two options. I can either live with my cup overflowing, with my trust in him that God's going to be God, he's with me in it, and I can trust him. My soul's or I cannot. I can say, well, or I can take the approach, well, if God really love me, then he would have fixed that. He wouldn't have let that happen. But I'm pretty sure I just read to you something that's not on the TV that in spite of all these things, nothing can set me from his love. In spite of a high river, nothing's going to separate me from his love. In spite of any kind of challenge that I face, nothing's going to separate. So now, my cup is still overflowing. My cup's not overflowing when the river's down. My cup's not overflowing when when my belt fits better. It's cuz I drank it all. Whatever it is, my cup's not overflowing because my bank account's flush. Those are just some of the bennies that come in different seasons because we walk and talk with God. He's going to take care of your needs. He's going to take care of you.
But it's his Word that sanctifies you and sets you apart that makes you different than how everybody else looks. You look like everybody else. But you think different. You talk different. You live different. Why? Because you've been set apart by what? His Word. His Truth. It's been set apart. But I've got to buy into it. I've got I've got to say if Jesus is and I'm following then give me your Word. Give me your Truth. Give me more. I want more. I've got to want more. I've got to want to come here. I've got to want to read. I got to want to get out. I got to want to pray.
I got to want to take some time to say and reflect and remember and and focus and I got to take the time to be intentional to do it. Just as you sent me into the world, I'm sending them into the world. Watch verse 19. and give and I give myself as a Holy set aart sacrifice for them so they can be made Holy by your Truth. That's the clincher right there. See, he wasn't just another dude dying on a cross. He was already Holy and set apart dying on a cross. It wasn't uncommon for people to die on crosses. It was uncommon to be resurrected. What he did by dying on that cross was he absorbed a criminal's death for you and I. This deity, this God, this one who is Holy, it was a Holy sacrifice that then made us Holy that we could be made Holy is how it says. So they can be made Holy by your Truth. See, you can be set apart. You can think different. You can live different. You can have different friendships, different relationships. You can have a different future. You can have a different life. You're you and you're the one that God made and you put he put gift. I'm not talking a different life like every I'm saying God can take what he's put in you and bring it to the fullness of life.
He can bring a resurrection experience in your life. He can he can expound and and do amazing things. The youth make your youth like that of the eagles or whatever I read earlier. Can I get a hootyh who from anybody over 40? I received the eagle's youth. Second Peter chapter 1, a couple verses and I'll wrap up. I didn't even get to all mother notes. That's great. Next week. Second Peter 1:3. Watch. By his divine power, not yours, not your performance, not anything. This is about God. By his supernatural divine godcreative power, he has given us everything we need for living a godly life. Godliness is the simplest, best definition I ever heard. Is an attitude toward God that results in actions that are pleasing to him. Is God's way better? Yes. Okay. So, I want to do the actions that are pleasing him.
That means they're his way of doing things. Well, how's that going to happen? It's going to start with my attitude toward him. If it's not a big deal, then it's not going to be a big deal when it comes time to do. There won't be any actions. It doesn't matter if I'm honest or not because there's no fear or reverence for him. I don't my attitude toward him is like whatever, take it or leave it, right? But if he is, then it's going to cause a result in me. It's actions that are produ that are that are honoring to him. Okay. An attitude godliness is a godliness is an attitude toward God about God for God to God that results in actions that are pleasing to him. Okay. Look at it again. By his divine power, God has given us God has given us everything that you have need of for living a godly life. He has given it all to you already. You have everything you need. We have received all of this by coming to know him. That Holy sacrifice, this relationship by getting to know by coming to know him means there's been exchange of words and his words sanctify. His words set apart. His Word is Truth.
There's been an exchange. There's been dialogue. I've come to know him. Tom and I have known each other. When I first met him, there's no words exchanged. But now there's been more words exchanged since we met. And there will be more words exchanged. Therefore, the relationship will only get stronger. It will only get better. It will only get healthier by me listening and him listening and going back and forth and being vulnerable. And he says this, "Come to know him. The one watch who called us. " So, it's his divine power and he is the one that called you, but yet you still think that you chose him. You still think that it's up to you and that we're the ones doing this. He has been pursuing you and all he wants to do is walk with you every day of your life. I've been talking about that grind for the next six and a half days. Guess who wants to go with you on that grind? Guess who wants to be with you on the grind? Guess who wants to walk with you and talk with you? Guess who wants to help lift some of that grind off of you?
He'd like to go with you. He's here. I' Hey, where are you? And we got to welcome him, invite him. He called us to himself. Look at it. I didn't write it. We have received all this by coming to know him. The one who called us to himself. Look, by his own means. He didn't call you to him. If you'll do certain things, then your means. No, by his means. Okay? By means of his marvelous glory and excellence. In other words, because of his awesomeness, because of his generosity, because of his goodness, then he has provided the means of himself, his Son, and called you and invited you to now live a godly life by his divine power. So, guess who gets all the credit and all the glory? God does. That's why it's easy to sing. God really loves me.
God really loves me. Verse four. And because of his glory and excellence, and because of his awesomeness, because of how cool he is, he has given us great and precious promises. And these, watch, are the promises that enable you. The message, the promise, the Truth. Because you've called to him, he's given you a new message. He's given you a new identity. He's given you a new promise. He's given you new things to stand on and anchor your soul to. And they enable you. They strengthen you. They give you the youth like an eagle. They give you the freedom of somebody who's forgiven. They give you the strength of somebody whose hands have been blessed for prosperity. That whatever you put your hand to prospers. They've given you the promises have given you the wisdom to make right decisions how to navigate the hardships of life. These promises of who he is enable you to share his divine nature. That means the presence of God, the strength of God, the glory of God, the awesomeness of God, his nature is you share it with him and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires. The world that you're not a part of anymore. The promises enable you.
The different messaging, the different Truth that sanctifies you, sets you apart, now enables you to escape the world's rat race. Is that what we call it? We're rat. It's a rat race. I don't want to be a rat. I want to be an eagle. I don't want to be a rat. I'm not in the rat race. I'm not into the mindset of he who dies with the most toys wins. I don't I don't subscribe to that mentality. I subscribe to the fact that I'm hand selected by God. I've been gifted. I'm his masterpiece. And I receive his promises. He's my healer. He's my provider. My cup's overflowing. Whatever I put my hand to prospers. Everywhere I go is landing God's given me. That there's healing in my lips, salvation in my lips, and healing in my hands.
That I'm a vessel of love for everybody. That God loves me, and nothing can set me in front of love. I subscribe to that Truth, and it enables me to deal with all the grind that the world can throw at me this week. Bring it on. I'm not of the world. So, what do I say? Come, Lord Jesus. Come. Come on. Come on back. Come get us. I'm ready. We're looking for the day of his return. And if he doesn't return before I'm out, guess what? I'm out. So, I'm going to spend it while I got it. I'm gonna spend it because I'm out. If he doesn't come back before my days are not up, then I'm out. And I'll see you on the flip side. But either way, I'm looking for that day.
This is what enables me. This is what gives me hope for tomorrow is I'm looking for that day. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world's corruption. It is a corrupted, broken system that we live in. And I don't think anybody really wants to debate that or disagree with that. There's the beauty of God's wonderful creation. I'm not questioning that. That's not what we're talking about. to see an eagle soaring through the air. That's why we got likened to an eagle. It's beautiful to see the river when it's be it's beautiful. Big springs, beautiful trees, ozark, oceans, beautiful. But the world's system and the world's mentality and the way the world thinks and the perversion and the corruption of the world and the value system of the world, it's jacked. It's jacked. Hebrews chapter 8 verse 6 and then amen. But now Jesus, our high priest, in other words, he's the one, this is, this is writing to people that were Jewish culture. They understood this. The high priest would go in on behalf of the people. And so, he's writing to some Jewish people, the Hebrews. He's saying Jesus is now our high priest.
He's the one that goes in before us based on the old contract. He represents the high priest who would go in on behalf of the people. And he has been given a ministry that is far superior to the old priesthood. For he is the one who mediates for us, watch this, a far better covenant, which is a contract or an agreement that we have. We're in a blood covenant with Jesus through Jesus, right? He mediates. Jesus now mediates. He He fights for you. He lobbies for you. He argues for you, if that would be a term we'd want to use. He litigates for you. He mediates for you. for us a far better covenant with God based on better promises. Find me a better Gospel than the broken system that you live in. Find me a more lifegiving message that's going to set you apart and sanctify you more than the message and the Word and the Truth of God's Word. The Gospel, it's not out there. And what we have to do and the part of the buy in I'm finished with this is we train ourselves to look for it. We train ourselves to see it. And the way we do it is we get up and look for it every day. I'm looking for the hand of God in every circumstance.
I'm looking for the goodness of God to come out of this situation. I'm looking for the redemption. I'm looking for God's comfort. I'm looking for his peace to guide me the next step. I'm looking for his presence. I'm looking for his provision. I'm looking for it. I have an expectation for it. I'm not worried about tomorrow. My eyes are fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith. My mind is set on things of Heaven. I'm looking for the return of Jesus. So when people get hung up, I deal with customers at the landing. It's like, what are we what are we talking about here, bro? I could care less about this topic. All I want to do is grab them by the throat and preach to them. That's what I really want to do, right? But I'm having a conversation with people last night, and all their argument is, this is 11:30 at night, all their argument is a justification for their behavior. Hey bro, you're on my page. You're on the landings property.
I know you I know you spent money to be here. So did everybody else. I know you didn't get to go float. Neither did anybody else. I know you're not your normal level 10. You're level five, but I need you to get to one because that's who we are. We're ones around here. So you're five is great job being a five instead of a 10, but I need you to get to one because that's who we are. You're on our property. This is our world. You got to buy into this culture here. And if not, you're welcome to stay anywhere else. It's okay. But let me talk to you about something else bigger than that. Quit defending that and let's just let's look to something else. Let's look forward to something bigger than this. Let's look forward to the life of God. Let's look past the disappointments of not going floating. Let's look past the disappointments and go, "Man, God's here right now. God's our provision.
God's God's got hope for tomorrow, man. Let's enjoy this. Let's find where God's at in it. Are you with me, man? And I hope I helped you.
